The water-inlet valve lets water enter the machine. First Check to see if the valve is getting water. Make sure it’s not clogged. There is a screen on the inside of the valve, this sometimes gets clogged up with debris. Check to see if you get power to valve when unit is put into operation may take a couple minutes to start a fill. If you have power and it’s not clogged up replace the valve .If you have no power to the water inlet valve check float switch. This can be done by checking the continuity. There is a video of this at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you checking the water inlet valve and the float switch. It may be a different model but the testing procedure will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for most models. All parts come with installation instructions.

Hooked up new dishwasher and no water to it when turn it on.

Sounds like you're a real DIY (do-it-yourselfer)....great!

Try these steps:

Turn off the water supply valve to the dishwasher. Disconnect the water to the fill valve. Place a shallow pan under the water line and open the water valve slowly. If you have water flowing up to this point, check the power to dishwasher. If no water, check the water supply and anything that might keep water from flowing.

If you have water, then look at the inlet screen to the water fill valve. Sometimes, when a new water supply is hooked up, some sedimentation occurs and gets into the inlet screen at the water valve. Check this and clean it out as needed. Not all units have these screens.

Make sure you have removed any shipping plugs or other items that could prevent the unit from operating.

Hi, I installed LG dishwasher, control board is working, water is coming from the water line but when hooked up to the dishwasher and dishwasher is on, there is no water coming into the dishwasher....

it should drain a bit of water out before it fills when it first starts. if that water doesn't drain out then you may have a drain pump fault. You can test this by dumping a few glasses of water into the machine then starting it up ( you should hear it drain that water out)
if that worked... then you have a fill solenoid fault or a line filter fault. You can check power to the fill solenoid or give it a couple of taps when its suppose to be filling to see if its just stuck. the inline filter could be plugged where you hook up the water supply to the machine (clean it or take it right out)

Dishwasher not working

It is probably the fill valve on your dishwasher that is bad. It is hooked up to the water supply and has a plug with a couple wires.

If this is bad your dishwasher will not fill.

After water turns on, nothing else happens

If you are hearing a humm noise after it stops filling, your motor is locked up.

The motor runs but no water, with water turned on

You could have a possible fill valve problem. Remove the lower kick plate in the front. The fill valve will be located somewhere near the front of the unit on the left hand side. With the circuit breaker turned off, and water supply line turned off, remove the water line to the fill valve and make sure there's nothing obstructing water flow. Sometimes if you use teflon tape you can get a piece of it covering the opening of the line. Or, if you have hard water, you can get corrosive mineral build ups blocking water flow. Carefully remove the electrical connection to the valve and check the connector tabs on the fill solenoid to make sure they aren't corroded. Reconnect everything and try to run the unit with the circuit breaker and water turned back on. I have experienced on a couple of occasion where merely removing the connector and plugging it back in corrected the problem. If the unit still does not fill, you can carefully check for voltage at the fill valve solenoid. You should be able able to get a reading with the plug connected and it should read 120vac. If no voltage is getting to the valve, you have a wiring problem between the valve and the timer. If you have the proper voltage, more than likely you have a bad fill valve. Good luck and I hope this helps you.

No power to dishwasher

depends on the sequence. many, but not all, dishwashers start with drain to get rid of the slops. if yours starts with fill, then no water supply will prevent progress.(you should be able to hear a low hum which is the valve energised) check also that the door is closing properly and latching. better to use cold water fill not hot
