Question about Abit IS7 Motherboard
If you have more than 1 device on the ribbon cable, make sure they are
both on CS(cable select) or one is on master and one is on slave.
Next disconnect all the drives from the board and just hit the del key to enter the BIOS. Select advanced tab to make sure SATA is active, otherwise you will bypass any sata and go only to ide channels.
Once the sata is active, check boot sequence and select CD/DVD as 1st boot priority save and exit, on the reboot turn unit off and attach all cables to the board. Reboot.

the beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk,and remains active untill turned off.
make sure that your RAM is securely seatedOne bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make
sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them
there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
