we have a saeco magic combi and everything worked great for about 5 months. now when we pull a shot of espresso the coffee comes out very slowly, with little pressure, and the sound of the machine isn't right when this is happening. (too quiet) The steam works, and the pressure is great when drawing just water, and the sound of the machine is perfect when this is happening. It just won't make coffee anymore. Is there a way to clean the brewing mechanism?

Hi,

Adjust your grinder to grind coars, when the machine "drip" out the coffee then it is to fine, adjust the grinder two step and then you have to maker 3-4 cup of coffee to make your new tasty coffee;-)

The coffee is very slow coming out.we have decalcified the machine many many times, taken the grindchute assembly out and cleaned it,and now we are running out of options Please help

Coffee coming out too slow could be a number of problems.
I'd start with the grinder and make sure it is set to the right settings. If the coffee's too fine it will cause the coffee to come out slowly.
Next it could be a dirty brew group. The internal part of the brew group has a glass ball inside of it which is used to during the infusion process. Take the ball out and make sure that area is all clean.
Restrictions in that area can cause the coffee to come out slower.
Your next possible scenario is the pump. Vibratory pumps do go bad from time to time, and a bad pump would cause the coffee to come out slow.
If its a newer saeco machine with the J style boiler, it could be clogged due to lack of descaling.

Slow coffee can be caused by any one of these issues. Usually it is the first one.... the grinder settings.
A tip is to never go under the 3 setting under any saeco machine as the machines for some reason cannot handle anything lower all that well.
Also remember these machines are ment to produce an "espresso like" coffee, and not traditional espresso. They are not capable of producing espresso that you would otherwise be able to make in a traditional handle machine.
Hope this helps.

Water is coffee is coming out very slow.. will descaling help???

Hi it sounds like it does need descaling i would do it more than once as it can build up and block the machine, once you have done this it will be back working again.

if you had no water or coffee coming out at all then i would say it has something else wrong with it like element etc, but as it is working but only slowly then descaling will solve your problem and should get it working as new again.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

Water output too slow

Try to see how long takes whout coffee. If it is ok then the coffee is too fine or wed or the filter inside the holder need cleaning remove filter and wash it with hot water and brush so all holes to be open.
If after this you still have slow water without coffee the the pressure pump is not working properly and it need ither descaling or is complete damage so you need a new pump. Good luck.
