We would like to import footage from the Panasonic NV-GS 400 digital video camera onto a MAC - is this possible

Yes, you can transfer the videos from the Camcorder to the Mac Computer.

Connect the Camcorder to the Mac Computer using i.LINK/Firewire or USB cable.

I suggest that you use the i.LINK/Firewire cable to connect it to the Computer. The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. An i.LINK is a black D shaped connector with 4 or 6 pins. The type of cable to be used will depend on the i.LINK port of your Computer.

After connecting the Camcorder to the Mac Computer, open the iMovie Application to capture the Videos from the Camcorder and follow the on-screen instruction to complete the transfer of the videos.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No computer cable for JVC GR-D250U

The camcorder can only use a firewire and not a USB cable.
They can be found on Ebay for very low prices!

Need to know how to transfer video from digital camera to computer

To transfer camcorder video to computer, you need the following:- 1. Firewire cable (it looks similar to the USB cable, but has very high speed capability)
2. Appropriate software/application.
If a firewire cable did not come with your camcorder then see that purchase one right away, ‘cause you will always need it for this purpose. Then you should have a video editing software like Adobe Premiere or Ulead installed on your system. Adobe Premiere is recommended for its speed.
Once you have these in place, all you need do is connect the camcorder to your computer via firewire, have your video editing application/program open, and simply playback. You will observe that the playback on the camcorder is at the same time being shown on the computer screen within the application. While the mini DV tape is playing back click on capture on the video editing application you are doing the playback from, i.e. Adobe Premiere, Ulead etc.

I have a jvc model number GR-D770U AND IM TRYING TO TRANSFER what is on the cassette to my computer with the usb cable how do i do it.

Your camcorder is only able to transfer still pictures with usb,if you would like to transfer a video you must use a DV input on a computer. If you would like instructions on how to transfer still pictures using the usb.Install software that was included with camcorder then make sure your using the adapter instead of battery otherwise you may run out of power, then make sure your unit is turn off then plug in usb cable to computer. After plug unit in turn on camcorder and use software provided to transfer pictures.Never pull out memory card when plug in to computer and make sure you do not unplug cable while arrow signs pointing right and left on view screen.I hope this helps you out happy picture taken.
