Question about Lowrance GPS
My X91 Lowrance Sonar does not show temperature readings. Temperatures were displayed for a few months of service over two boating seasons after the unit was initially installed (until the warranty ran out), and then the display read zero. After a few resets of the unit per instructions from Lowrance the temp function reappeared for a short while, but then reverted to zero again and did not return despite numerous resets. I sent the unit to Lowrance for repair and it was returned with a new temp sensing transducer, which I installed. I had the same results - a short period of functioning followed by no function, multiple resets, sudden recovery and then lost function after a couple hours service. The transducer is installed exactly in accordance with Lowrance instructions and is kept perfectly clean. I hesitate to send the unit back to Lowrance because of the cost. I would rather spend my $100 on a replacement sonar. Any ideas?

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there.
See page 12 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on what angle you should set your transducer in order to prevent losing track of the bottom at high speeds.

I have a lcx-25 from year 2007 with same kind of problem. Service found o lot of condensed water inside. These devices are not water or gas proof. There was oxidized connectors etc. Maybe local electronic mechanic could help you.
