Yes you can charge your player through main. All you need is a converter which connects to the usb cable to the plug. They are available in the market so you will need to look for it. Or you may find it at any electronic store.

I have found a lot of plugs and chargers at thrift stores.

Please try the following things :
1. check the battery contacts for dirt or rust and these are contacts both on the battery and on the camera. clean with solvent or file to remove the dirt or rust.
2.check that you have removed the charger DC cord from the camera before using the battery.This has happened in a few cases.
3. get some solvent e.g ethanol, spirit etc and drop it into the hole where the DC cable from the charger enters the camera. plug the DC cable into the hole in and out rapidly and several times to clean the contacts.
If the above measures fail, take it to the repairman.

I have a Nikon L20 and it goes through rechargable batteries lkie crazy. I might get two weeks out of them at the most. Has your camera ever been exposed to moisture? Even iof you don't think so, Take out the card and baterries and put the whole camera in a bowl of uncooked rice for about two days. After that carefully make sure no rice remains in the headphone jack, baterry or cardholder compartments. Put in some freshly charged batteries and see what happens, Good luck!

Radio shack has a charger that will fit this camera. Take your camera and they will find a charger that fix.
