Question about Dell Dimension 3000 PC Desktop
I have a Dell 530--service tag # 2DW8KF1. Stock processor is a Quad core Q6600 @ 2.44 mhz. My stock Bios screen won't let me do much of anything to alter the speed to say, 3.00 mhz. Could you help?
Sorry my friend but Dell doesn't support overclocking. You need a new motherboard and power supply and a better cpu heatsink to overclock your Dell. You would need extra fans too. They lock there BIOS settings as far as 1:1 clocking to prevent troubleshooting issues and they want you to buy something faster if you want something faster. I don't know how old your machine is but any attempt at overclocking would also void the warranty. They even recommend using just one brand of memory even though there are many that would work.
