If u using branded Laptop / desktop then search the sound driver by using laptop/Desktop model no.& serial no.
&If u r using Desk top thensearch sond driver using moterboard modelno.......

Please ensure that your bios setting is enabled for audio.
1. Have you installed the correct windows 7 driver or have you configured with the vista driver?
2. If you have installed with windows 7 driver, check it for 32 bit or 64 bit and you are installed perfectly!
3. Check the windows service. Go to "run", type "services.msc" and press enter. In that opened window, direct to "windows audio". Open it and check the service is started or not. Also ensure that the startup type is set to be "automatic".

you are having a compatibility issue with the system between vista ultimate and you will not find drivers for vista ultimate. so you will have no sound. you can install xp and you will have sounds.
Maybe Sound Card problem.Vista always has sound card problem because It works through your sound card. This happnes because this laptop is designed for windows vista. The driver that u install is forcefully installed.This is not the correct driver.If u load windows vista the u wont have any problem and ur mic which is installed in ur laptop will also work
hety restart u r pc in safemode
(f8 for safemode) then go to run and give
restore then select restore u r pc to earier working time.
