Question about Barebone Systems

Since updating to Vista my computer doesn't acknowledge the Kodak G610 printer dock. When trying to print error message just reads that there are no printers installed. It will only acknowledge the camera when docked.

Hiya Emma... You need to go to Kodaks site and download drivers to make it compatible with Vista.... this unfortunately is one of the drawbacks of Vista at the moment, in that Vista was released far earlier than the manufacturers would have liked.. the good news for you is there is a driver upgrade available.. click on link direct to driver update to make your equipment Vista ready!!!

Hope this helps

I updated my window vista OS.When I tried to install my Linksys Router I get the message Error 311 no wired adapter detected

Hi,

This could be the problem with your network driver which is overwritten by driver from Windows updates.

Try to overwrite by the .ini using device manager.

Get the compatible ethernet driver from your computer manufacture web site if dont have one.

Right click on MyComputer -> Manage -> Device Manager(expand the tree on the left side)

Under Network Adapters choose the ethernet wired adapter -> Update driver -> Choose Manually the .ini from the system where you stored the driver and update it.

Hope it will work fine

Printer Problem

error occurred
1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory.
2. Turn the printer off, and then turn the printer on.
3. Try printing a job from a different software application. If the job prints, go back to the first application and try printing a different file. (If the message only appears with a certain software application or print job, contact the software vendor for assistance.)
4. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or printer.
5. Turn the printer off.
6. Remove all memory DIMMs or third-party DIMMs from the printer. (Do not remove the firmware DIMM in the lowest DIMM slot.)
7. Remove all EIO devices from the printer.
8. Turn the printer on.
9. If the error no longer exists, install each DIMM and EIO device one at a time, making sure to turn the printer off and back on as you install each device.
10. Replace a DIMM or EIO device if you determine that it causes the error.
11. Remember to reconnect all cables that connect the printer to the network or computer.
12. If the error persists, replace the firmware DIMM.
13. Replace the formatter.

I just got a new computer , operating on vista and the cd rom gives this error when i try to install it"your windows version is not supported by the setup program" this is for a "pixma mp 130/110"

Hi,

The message is indicative that the software is not meant for Vista. Perhaps what you can do is to proceed to the Canon site search for and download Vista compatible driver for your printer. Alternately you can try here.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

OFFLINE problem - unable to print

Hi,
if your printers saying Offline, it means that your printer is not connected/switched on or detected by the computer.
Try a hard reset or re-installation of the printer itself.
power on/off ( On the printer )while this error message appears.
Check the cable from Printer To Computer.

Initially I installed HP Photosmart C4280 without any problem om my PC (Vista). Then I had to format the PC, and it took some research in order to get the printer up and running again. However, when I...

goto start, right click on my computer,go to properties, click on the tab that says hardware. once your in there you should not see any red or yellow warning signs. look for your device and if you see there is an error by it you can do a few thing. if you right click the device you can update the driver first. then reboot. if that doesnt go through the same process but uninstall the driver then reboot. Make sure that hp doesnt have an update for that printer on there website. hope it works for you.

I have Windows Vista. I am trying to install a Lexmark 1200 printer with the CD that came with it. My computor says the printer is installed. But it will not print.

Uninstall the printer from the system (Control Panel > Printers, right click the printer and remove it). Then go to lexmark's website to download the most updated drivers.

Lexmark List of Vista Drivers

The 1200 series is the second on the list.

Don't plug the printer in until the installer asks you to.

Best of luck!
