Mitsu WD-52628. Purchased 01/14/2006. We had a 2.5 hour power outage yesterday (TS Hanna). Power returned. HD-DTV reacquired signal and TV performed fine. No action needed. Today: Turned on TV. NetCommand prompt to re-program settings on screen. Did so. No issues. Turned off TV. Turned TV back on 2 hours later. No picture on TV. Nothing. Intermittent flasing timer light (green). Reviewed very non-intuitive Owner's Guide for the umpteenth time. Tested all connections and power sources. Nothing in the troubleshooting section of Owner's Guide suggests a solution. Contacted Mitsu Tech support. No substantive remedies suggested except to conatct authorized Mitsu tech support. Sugggested solution on this site to replace four internal capacitors sounds hopeful (and not to be a doubting cynic), but is this a proven solution? Thanks.

I have the same problem. The entire DM Board needs replaced in addition to another part. Looking at almost $500 in parts to repair. I will NEVER purchase anything associated with Mitsubishi EVER again. I purchased my TV in 3/2006, the 52628, and not it it is a pile of junk! Totally disgusted.

It sounds like the lamp has failed. It is advisable to use a genuine Sony lamp. The part number for is XL-5200. It will cost around 180.00. That should fix you problem. If you cannot find the lamp local to you can order it form Sony at.

Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)

KP57WV600 SCREEN TURNS GREEN THEN BLANK

The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
  • If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
  • If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.
If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection TV that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the TV to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the TV is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the TV.
  5. Turn on the television. NOTE: If the TV does not turn on immediately, the fan may need to finish its cycle. This is part of the cooling process for some projection TVs and is normal operation. After the fan turns off, attempt to turn the TV on again.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required . Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

Flashing green light

Did you try this yet

SYSTEM RESET
If the TV will not respond to either the remote control
or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off,
press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item
like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off
and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one
minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may
turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time
the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be lost, however, the changes you made
previously are not lost.
POWER/TIMER Indicator
The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light
will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV
is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power
is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM
RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again
during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and
the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV
on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates
steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on
automatically using the Timer feature,

Flashing green timer light on TV

change the 4 100uf capacitors on the DM board. You will need the service manual to get the set apart as its technical. But with the service manual and take notes you should be able to repair it. But the service manual for that chassis is mandatory or you will never get the chassis out without alot of trouble. Heres a link where you can get the manual emailed to you.
