Question about Samsung HLN5065W 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Temp LED light on

The other night we had the house lights flicker a couple of times. The TV picture showed fuzzy bars of light, not a viewable picture, I turned it off both times and the pictute returned just fine, The problem is the "TEMP" LED on the fromt panel is now always on. The fan appears to be running, I was told if the fan isn't running, the TV would not show a picture.
Any thoughts? Also is it a mistake to just ignore the temp LED light?

If the house lights flickered i would contact your insurance agent and tell him what happened it's possible they will cover the cost of repair, i would not ignore it it could lead to bigger problems .

I have a samsung dlp 61 inch tv...older model...just replaced the lamp but the temp light remained lit....then two weeks later the tv will only turn on after several attempts and ever since it has been off...

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30 seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

Will not power up. Red power light only blinks.

If you have sound and no picture, it's time for a new lamp.

In the manual check under LED indication, It explains the blinking lights, unless your outside at night looking up!

Green timer light wont go away

Hi.
The TV is in protect mode because there is an internal fault.
The TV must be tested and repaired at component level.
Call Mitsubishi at the number listed on the user manual.

you need a green CRT thats whay you have the white kind of concave lines with the green screen. You can try adjusting the green screen control but you need anew CRT ( tube) the speaker cover has two plastic plugs that get removed on the lower edge os the grille which covers the two screws that hold the grille on. If you need more assistancr or where to get a green CRT let me know as I have a link that has some green and red Tubes for your model.

Flickering - Toshiba 62HMX84

it could be as simple as the tv feeding back on itself in a dark room.
it is adjusting the light level because of what it sees ambient in the room.
turn on a light near the tv and see if it stays constant now.

if they are good then the picture tubes would need to be replaced, but since they are no longer available it realy wouldn't matter much would it.
