I have as pro-82 scanner reciever but no instructions. Iwant to use the scanner to monitor air traffic

Your PRO-82 has a key marked "AIR". Press it while the scanner is powered ON and it will search the AIR band for you, stopping each time it detects an active frequency. For more details on programming and monitoring with your scanner, you can download and print the factory manual, at no cost, here:

My pro-82 scanner scans threw all channels but will not pick up any frequencies?

To verify that the scanner is working properly, program one or more of the weather frequencies(162.4, 162.425, 162.45, 162,475, 162.5, 162.525, 162.55, 161.65, 161.775, 163.275) into memory and then scan. NOTE: Not all frequencies are in use in all areas, so you may need to try several. If you receive the weather broadcasts, then you may need to adjust the squelch setting on your scanner to receive local signals. You also need to verify that the frequencies programmed into the scanner are valid, active frequencies in your area. For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

If the scanner fails to receive the weather broadcasts, you need to check the antenna connections inside the unit and/or have the scanner checked/repaired by a qualified technician.

Ki need help programing my p that i bought used also i olnly have some of thehcodes for toulare county (porterville) thiat is where i live.... can yuo help me? thanks, kary ro 82 scanner

Before you start programming you'll need a list of frequencies (not codes). For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, visit:

www.RadioReference.com

That site also contains a lot of other useful scanning data, including links to users groups.

To program a known frequency into the scanner:
1. Power the unit ON.
2. Press the PGM key.
3. Enter the desired channel number (1-200).
4. Press PGM again.
5. Enter the frequency, including the decimal point (ex: 462.365).
6. Press ENT to enter the data into memory.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 for other channels.

More detailed programming instructions can be found in the scanner operating manual which you can download/print here:

I reset my pro 82 scanner now i need to program my scanning codes

Your reset wiped out all programmed frequencies, leaving "000.0000" in each channel. That automatically sets the LOCKOUT icon, but it will clear when you program a frequency into the channel. You can download and print your scanner manual here:

http://support.radioshack.com/support_electronics/doc69/69887.pdf

I cleared my scanner pro-82 now how do i program the channels back. the bank1 is blinking and is on channel 1. i do not have any scan codes for local fd/pd in the 78801 area zip code.

For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area (they're really NOT codes), visit:

www.RadioReference.com

To program known frequencies into your scanner,

1. Press PGM. PGM appears. Then enter the channel number (1-200) where you want to store a frequency, then press PGM again.
2. Use the number keys and DELAY/. to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store.
3. Press ENT to store the frequency into the channel.
Your scanner automatically rounds the entered frequency down to the closest valid frequency. For example, if you enter a frequency of 151.473, your scanner accepts it as 151.470.

Press DELAY/.if you want the scanner to pause 2 seconds on this channel before it proceeds to the next channel after a transmission ends. The scanner also stores this setting in the channel.

To program the next channel in sequence, press PGM and repeat Steps 2 and 3.

Scanner not receiving

Performing a RESET will not clear/erase frequencies or other data programmed into the scanner. If the RESET doesn't work though, you may need to INITIALIZE the scanner. That procedure will clear all programmed data and return the scanner to its "as new" state. Need the manual for your PRO-82? You canb download/print it here:
