Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console
Just fitted a new ribbon cable to my ds and i still have the same problem.
screen flickers for a split second and then it turns off.
do i need a new screen?
Check all the ribbon cables and make sure they are all the way in. The flickering screen tells you it's probably one of the cables not on that screen. These cables go in a lot further than you might think.

These cables or ribbon cable and wire connects directly inside the upper LCD monitor. it is not feasible to replace these wires only. I suggest you see about getting a replacement upper LCD screen which will give you the wires you need and a new screen to boot. Another porblem is the case itself is very hard to disassemble. You will come near destroying the case to ge to the lcd. You must disassemble the unit fully and put the correct curl in the ribbon cable to get it to fit right. In short, the price being what it is for a replacement LCD, and the trouble you have to go though to get this problem fixed, It may not be totally worth repairing. If you dont care and wish to do a repair, then my wishes for luck are with you.
