My ipod seems to work fine. depending on how you have hooked up, whether you've done it through the white ipod connection in the back or through the aux RCA's. Make sure it isnt a problem with your Ipod by re sycning it or reseting. I have learned tHROUGH EXPERIENCE USUALLY THE PROBLEMS IS IN THE IPOD NOT THE OTHER EQUIPMENT.

Is it possiable to hook a ipod, iphone to the DUAL XDVD 700. AND LOOK AT VIDEOS. and can you get local tv on this unit.

You can hook an ipod touch/iphone up to this provided you have an ipod video out cable and your ipod supports video out. This will allow you to connect the RCA out from ipod/iphone to RCA video in on your receiver. You will not, however, be able to browse your iOS or ipod system through your receiver. This method will only output the video to the screen of the receiver.
As for local TV, it's all a matter of where you live and if this receiver has a built in tuner. If it does, it may only have an analogue tuner which will give you 1-125 channels of fuzz since everything has gone digital now. You may get a couple of channels, but barely visible.

I have an older 30 gb video ipod and that worked jus fine but when i pluged in a newer ipod nano it doesnt connect and it does with a brand new 16 gb ipod touch. is there anyway to fix this problem?

When you synced to a newer version of iTunes, everything was fine, until you connected the nano and
the touch, which worked fine, and then you tried the 30 GB again and it would not work, right?

Upgrade the software in the 30GB, not with your original 30GB disks, but with newer disks supplied NOW
by Apple, since iTunes went to version 8.1.1 and everything should be back in sync.

Cannot watch ipod video on tv even using the correct apple cable

I solved my problem with this issue. It wasn't the radio in my case. Don't know if this will help anyone else but I had to turn "ON" the TV output on my ipod. This is done by going to Videos - Settings - TV OUT. Then click center button to turn it to "ON".

Jensen vm9412 and ipod classic

The newer generation iPods don't always work with the iPod connection kits in a lot of the car stereos. Some of the problem is due to the fact that the new generation iPods have been changed and the stereos were manufactured before the players were released so they are not compatible.
I bought my girlfriend a Pioneer car stereo with an iPod control cable, and it works fine with her Nano (not the new generation Nano) and it works with my iPod Photo 60 GB but it does not work with my iPhone 2G and I read that it is not compatible with the new Nanos or the Classics. Check with Jensen to see if the model you have is compatible with the Classic and see if there is a solution to the issue. It may not be compatible with the new video portion of the Classic firmware.

Cheers

Ipod Video

This will never work, the new ipods will only work with apple products. I've had numerous headaches with this and after many phonecalls to manufacturers I discovered that the new ipods will only play video if they see an apple authentication chip embedded inside the video cable. Sorry.

Ipod wont come up

The problem is that your iPod adapter does not have a authentication chip in it. Apple decided to go a new route with the new iPods. They now require a authentication chip if you want to get audio and video out of the iPod using the dock connector. So you won't be able to hook up your iPod to your system using your current equipment. You can either hope that the maker of your equipment comes out with a new iPod cable that has a authentication chip (they have to pay Apple for this so if the company is cheap then you are probably out of luck) or just stick with your older 5G/5.5G iPod.

Assuming that your unit have a rear video/audio input, you need an adapter cable. 35mm to video/audio rca. You may find one on Ebay or RadioShack. Goodluck.

The fix for the override on the dual described above is not recommended, unessassary and dangerous.

If anyone has the original thread please post the override question again and I can answer it.

On the IPOD classic question, your new IPOD 160 has a different firmware that will not be compatible with your dual model. The older one is compatible, IPOD had changed their firmware and only tv/dvd units / radios that were manufactured in 2008 will be compatible. So unless your unit is one of the new ones that is loaded with the new apple / IPOD firmware no NEW ipods will work on those devices. Call your manufacturer to get exact info. 1-866-382-5476
