Question about Mitsubishi WS-48513 48" Rear Projection Television

2 Answers

Green screen When we purchased this set the owner connected a DVD player to it and the picture was great. After getting it home and connecting a ComCast DVR to it the picture was great but there was a problem with the DVR. We got a new one and when I hooked it up using the DVT input the screen went all green. The screen flashes and gets "pixely" with the red and blue but always settles on a green screen. If I play with the connections I can get it to flash the other colors but there is no picture. Audio is fine. If I can't find any answers here I'm going to check the backside of all of these inputs and see if I've got a busted solder joint or something like that. I'm hoping someone here see's this and says "Oh, it the flux capacitor" or something similar. Thanks.

If you are using the component video input change the input setting of the DTV input from RGB to Y, Pb,Pr also make sure the DVR's setting is 1080i output. this set can only except 480i, 480p and 1080i only. also make sure you have the green wire to the green input the red to the red input (some have mistaken the red audio for the red video) and the blue to the blue input.

My DVD is playing my videos in black and white .. It's a Panasonic tv model is tc-L32c5

follow the steps. God bless you
Insert a DVD lens-cleaning disc into your player and press "Play" to clean the DVD laser, eliminating picture problems due to read errors. Do not use a CD cleaning disc as the brushes on these discs can damage your laser.

  • 2 Wipe your DVDs clean of all visible marks and dirt using a lint-free cleaning cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner. This further fixes read errors which can damage the quality of picture and sound.

  • 3 Disconnect your DVD player from the TV or receiver you have it connected to. Reconnect the DVD player directly to the "AV" or "Video In" port of your television, firmly pushing the plug into place, to eliminate possible noise from the receiver and ensure a clean connection.
  • 4 Connect your DVD player using an S-Video, component video or HDMI cable. Standard yellow/red/white RCA connectors cannot carry the high-quality signal that DVD discs are capable of transmitting, and will display a particularly poor picture on flat-screen high definition televisions. Use an HDMI cable, if your television and player support it, or a red/blue/green component video cable.
  • 5 Press "Setup" on your DVD remote and enter "Picture Settings." Make sure your DVD player is set to display images in the correct screen format ("Widescreen" or "16 x 9" for HDTV sets, "Standard" or "4 x 3" for older square sets) and scan mode. If you are using a DVD player that supports "Progressive Scan" on an HDTV or flat-screen set, activate this setting; for older sets, choose "Interlace" if given a choice.

I get sound but no picture when playing a DVD

You only need the patch cord hooked up, For it to work,Not both.Allso you have to set your tv to the right in put to get a picture. If your DVD End tv is newer With blue end green jacks on it where they connect up.You will need a new patch cord with Blue end green plugs on it, The old style red white & yellow will not work.

How do I connect the DVD player to a Panasonic High Def Plasma TV?

Choose connections on the Panasonic that match those on the player--

Do you have on the player Component outs(blue, green, red and 2 audio which are red and white? This ought to give you the best picture and sound.

Other inputs to the set must match the ones coming from the player--Most owner manuals have a lot of details here.

If the player has 1080 output hook to a similar input on the set.

Some advice here: make the connections between units with both turned off.

Jenson requires the green wire to be connected to the vehicle parking brake.(Safety feature) this green wire requires a negative switch to activate the screen.

I recently purchased a KDL-40W5100 LCD Digital Color TV. I gives a great picture, but when I turn on my Panasonic DVD connected to it I get a blue snowy picture (it worked fine on the old TV)Can you help?

    Hi,
This may be due to a setting on the dvd player itself. What kind of tv did you have previously? Also what kind of connection are you using to hook up the dvd player to the tv? Lastly, if you have the model number for the dvd player it will help if/when you need further assistance.
    Thank you,

I have a samsung2333hd and want to connect a dvd player using the connections marked pr(red) pb(blue) y (green) when i connect them all i get a redish pink screen then when i connect two of them i get...

OK no problem here. I can help. First reconnect the DVD Player to the tv using the Compoment cables. Match Green to Green,Red to Red and Blue to Blue.. If this is done correctly then you will have normal looking picture. If the picture looks like it is missing the RED color then switch both Red cables. The pix should look normal. Then connect the RED and White audio cables to the audio inputs . Now the Pinkish color is a result of the DVD Player not being set to the "Progressive" setting in the DVD Player Menu. It will help to connect a set of COMPOSITE cables from the DVD Player to the TV's Composite Input. Those are the Yellow,Red and White inputs on both the tv and the DVD Player. This will allow you to see the DVD player menu in case you cannot see the menu while in the Component input. The Pinkish picture should go to a Normal picture.

Sound on my emerson dvd player

The set -up is listed on page (7) of your owners manual. When asking a question like this it is important to say what type of connection you are trying to make. It is also important to say what type of cables you intend on using for the connection. If you do not have a copy of the owners manual, you can find a copy on the provided web link. It will show you with a diagram all of the possible way to connect the dvd player to the television. If you are still having a problem with the connections you can call the emerson customer support at this telephone number. 1-800-256-2487. I hope this information helps you with your problem. http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/emerson/ewd2204_1.html

I HAVE NO AUDIO, AND THE PICTURE KEEPS ON SCROLLING ACROSS THE SCREEN, ALSO THE COLOR ARE ORANGE AND GREEN

How is it connected? If you are using the RGB (Component cables) then you could have hooked up the Blue to green and vice versa On some sets the Blue and Green are so close that its easy to cross them form either the DVD player or the monitor.
As for the audio, if you can see the home screen, use the remote to navigate back ( left arrow all the way, then down to the audio set up screen) check to see what the audio default is set to. If you are using the standard analog stereo ( white and red) select this option and return to playback mode. Hope it helps.

KS3102 Koss DVD player hookup to Toshiba how??

I have an owner's manual for that system and would be glad to copy the diagrams for you. Additionally, I think that you need red, blue and green wires from the back of the Koss to the inputs on the TV.

    Pulsing screen

Are you getting this on all video outputs from the DVD? the yellow analog out + the red/blue/green + the S video? Did you try connecting a different source? a digital cable TV tuner, or another DVD player? sometimes DVD players get screwed on some outputs, while the rest stay fine. I have a DVD that has an analog video out that shows an only black and white picture, while the red/blue/green works fine. Good luck
