Just changed mine. I have a Turbo Force 6585. Flip it over and press with your fingers on clip #s 2,3 and 4 (This releases the cover over the roller brush - The clip locations are labeled on the plastic cover). Remove the cover - this will expose the brush , belt and drive motor spindle. Pull the roller straight out (note one side of the roller has a "square peg" - its pretty obvious but you need to align it when replacing. Remove the belt and replace the new one over the silver motor spindle first and then the roller. You will see the area or Pulley (it is part of the roller brush itself) to put it on it is fairly obvious where it goes. Use the roller to stretch the belt and insert the roller back in and replace the cover.

Note; There have been several complaints about belts breaking prematurely on these models - I used a Homecare No. 1145 that is made to fit Panasonic Upright, Belt type UB / UB8 - This belt is about an 1/8 longer (much less tension) than the supplied one and it hasn't broken yet - Considering the factory supplied belt broke in 3 uses, I really don't care what Bissell recomends as this has been a common complaint with this mode on forums. Hope this helps

Why does my hoover belt keep snapping?

Hello! Your belt will need to be replaced about twice a year. If your belt is breaking within a couple uses of you changing it, you may not have the correct belt for your vacuum. Double check the owner's manual or Hoover.com to verify the belt number for your vacuum. Always replace the belt with a genuine Hoover belt. Hope this helped!

Why does the belt keeps comming off

Hello! If your belt keeps coming off, this usually means the belt is stretched and needs to be replaced. The Dirt Devil Breeze takes a Dirt Devil style 4 belt. Follow the link below to purchase the replacement belt. Hope this helps!

Belt slipping on sewing machine

Take some 91% alcohol and take off the belt and clean the belt path and the belt itself with it and a rag and some q-tips. See if that helps. If is does not, the belt is stretched and you will need to have it replaced or buy a replacement at your local dealer and replace it yourself..

If you torn the macine over, at the bottom of the sweeper you will see the belt on on side. You have to take the bottom part apart and remove the brushes to replace the belt. I hope this helps.

Hoover mach 4 burning smell

There are two reason you could be smelling a burning smell-
1. The belt is too stretched out and needs to be replaced. This causes it to slip when the vacuum is on and will create that type smell. You can avoid stretching and having to replace the belt to often by releasing the belt after each vacuum.

2. There may be hair or other debris stuck around the rod that the belt is attached to. Can be avoided by checking after vacuuming.

Hope this helps
