Sony Ericsson W910i turning off
I have a sony ericsson W910i. it is 1 week old and i'm on a orange contract. the problem is that it turns itself off. the back red light (recording light) remains on and a slight side background screen light remains on but nothing on the screen. the only way to turn it on is by taking off the battery then putting it on again and rebooting. i have tried recharging it when this happens but still it will not turn on unless i take off the battery and reboot.

- i have a similar problem, everytime i plug in the charger it switches itself off. i have a few friends who have the same problem with this phone. its really annoying, i have to unplug the charger then switch it back on, but its the same cycle. plug in charger, off it goes. i spend most the the time trying to charge the stupid phone.- Guest

This happens when u have half updated software. Best solution is to update ur phone software.
1) Go to www.sonyericcson.com/support
2) Or go to settings in W910i in general tab go to update service where u can see ur current software and also u can update it via air(but keep in mind of the charges).
3) U can also update it from ur nearest sony ericcson service centre.

the phone vibrates then it blacks out then the back red light goes on for about 10 seconds then comes back on but just before it goes off there is no signal so it might be somthing to do with the signal

I am only 11 and Santa brought me a Sony Ericsson W910i as a surprise. I love the phone but after charging it for the first time, it keeps turning off and I have to keep entering my PIN number. I googled for help and found that more people have the same problem. Please help or I am going to have to try and change it.

I had same problem one day it asked me to update so i did but after 5 minutes it turned itself off, now it vibrates when you turn it on then goes to a blank screen and a conctant red light on the back. im on orange and had to phone them up a few times with a change of phone 3 times, they said if happened again would get a diff phone but when i called then after this time went dead it was a diff story its nothing to do with them so i still got a year contract which i had to go out and buy a new phone which had to buy credit at same time which no good for me as contract lol

join the club - mine does it aswell - started about 2months after i had it. (6mths old) some times if i leave it alone (out of frustration) it does come back on...
frequency changes aswell - no pattern to it - extremely annoying when you've spent 30mins writin tx and it turns off loosing all the tx - i will smash the thing one day....
is there any solution or suggestions out there??

my w910i had the same problem. Last night it just WENT DEAD! nothing! It used to turn itself on and off and sometimes I couldn't write sms or hear my phone calls.

phone screen keeps turning off after 5 seconds or so of being turned on and the red back light comes on and the phone trys to reboot itself starting the whole problem over again
