First I would determine if it is the fax or printer that is causing the dirty prints.
First, print a report, any report, and see if it has dirty prints. If so it is the printer that is bad. If not, try making a copy. If you get a dirty print then, your scanner is dirty or bad. If the copy is good, have someone fax to you. If that is bad, then your phone line, their fax or the unit's modem is bad.
If the printer shows bad, do an interrupted print. Put a page in the front tray and do a report print. As the page just disappears into the machine pop open the cartridge lid and take out the cartridge. If the page is dirty at this point then the cartridge is bad or you have a serious problem with the electronics. (Remember, the toner is not fused on the paper when you stop it at this point.)

  • Oh, I forgot to tell you that if the page is printed good when you interrupt it while under the toner cartridge but is bad after that then your fuser is bad. The fuser can develop a torn fuser film and cause poor prints.

Streak along edge of paper, Canon MF8380Cdw

Print quality issues on these models is usually if not always down to the cartridges used. I bet you are using compatible cartridges. If so just buy a set of genuine ones and I bet the quality will be perfect again.

Out of Toner / Change Toner - Canon image CLASS MF4370dn

The percentage-of-available-toner is based on calculations made by the printer's internal software -- quite different from putting a measuring-stick into an above-ground oil-tank to determine the ACTUAL level.

So, while the calculations say "zero percent left", there still is some toner inside the toner-cartridge, and so it still prints.

Buy a replacement cartridge. When you finally do run-out of toner, install the new cartridge.

Compare it to buying a new quart of milk, and then using the last 1/8 of the quart of the milk currently inside your refrigerator -- use the "old" milk until it is 100% gone, and then switch to the "new" milk.

My Canon Laser Class 710 fax machine is flashing a red error and the message states ''received in memory'' .. How do I clear it?

You could be out of toner = new toner cartridge.
You could be out of paper = reload paper
You could have a printer problem, paper jam, door open, etc

get the printer part working.

does it print a report if you press the 'report' key?

Panasonic KX-FL521 Fax Laser Copier, New Toner

This is usually an indication that the toner cartridge wasn't shaken from side to side to distribute the toner evenly.  If this was done, the cause is probably a dirty drum.  Remove the toner cartridge and clean the drum. Either of these two solutions should solve your problem.  Best of luck.

Panasonic kx-fl511 has blank vertical lines on fax when printing.

It's important to gently move the toner cartridge from side to side to distribute the toner evenly through the cartridge. This could be causing your blank lines. Also, clean the Corona wire when installing a new toner cartridge. Best of luck.

Printing

It sounds like the toner is getting low. Take out the toner cartridge and rock it back and forth a few times to redistribute the toner evenly in the cartridge. If this makes the printouts look better, you should order another cartridge, as this one is getting low. I'm not sure about the L-100, but the toner cartridge for the L-120 fax is good for about 2,000 copies.
