Question about Espresso RMI La Cimbali Espresso Machine

1 Answer

La Cimbali M29 Select - No power

Help, I purchased the above model 2nd hand & it simply does'nt work !
I am competent electrically & I have checked that power is getting to the main switch but there is absolutely no sign of it getting anywhere else.
No pump runs or water heating or any indications of activity.
I couldn't find any theremostatic reset which may require resetting although its mentioned on one of the panels.
Could it be that no water is getting to the heater ?
Could it be the theremostat ?
Any clues gratefully requested

Is the machine wired for single phase or three phase, check on the side panel closest to the element there is a wiring schematic.

Hi all. In desperate need of help. I have a La Cimbali M29 Select. I am unable to get hot water from the hot water tap and when the machine dispenses a shot of coffee, I have to turn the machine of...

From your description it sound that the button strip need to be replaced. All the buttons of the coffees and also for hot water are all set in one unit the button strip. This like a membrane and is located under the buttons. This is frequent problem with m29 select since the connector of the button strip it is exposed under the cup warmer area and is very easy to absorb the humidity from steam escape inside the machine and when one short circuit it happens then since the whole strip is one unit it will mull faction as you described.

WANT TO BUY A SECOND HAND M29 SELECTRON 2 GROUP- LA CIMBALI

The price for the m29 select new is about 5500 to 6000. So for one of 4-5 years you can give about 2500-3000. However I sugest to open the machine and check if their are rusting points or any leaking points which propably be white points from calcium color. Also ask if their were any water filter like everpure or and a water softener conected to water supply of machine during the operation of the machines.
If you see minor points as above and the water was treated before entering the machine then your machine can work for minimum another 10 years.
Water calcium (scale) is the biger enemy of the machine.
Good Luck

First, the switch is a 3 position(off-on-on). Second, I am assuming you have a 2 group machine, check the element wires use the schematic below.

Remove the 3 screws on the side of the bell they might be bolts or allen wrench screws. That will give you easier access to the screen and screw(make sure you have extra screen and screws).
