Re: Sony 46"lcd tv x series
Can you please post the exact model number from the back. The 10 blinks is an indicator of the probelm circuit, but is specific to the model number. I can provide more details once I have the model.

Hello Three blinks of standby light to Sony TVs indicates that the regulated voltage output from power regulator board is above thatn normal. The problem is with its power supply regulator board. Replace all the electrolytic cpacitors on that board with new ones. Replace all of them including small and large ones, at one time. OK.
For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.
You did not specify the brand and model of your tv but based on experience the red light indicator flashing means a projection lamp problem. Check the lamp and lamp doors if properly secured. If symptom persist you need to replace the lamp.
It turns out that the number of red lights flashing, relates to a partiuclar error problem. My TV was flashing 4 red lights, pausing , then flashing again etc etc. This particular error meant that one of the five fans within the TV box had stopped funtioning. So the TV has gone to the repairman today. I was advised by an operator at the SONY STYLE CENTRE that such a repair would be considered as a genuine fault and that SONY would pick up the tab. I live in hope
