I'm having the same problem with my Kodak camera -- it just started today. I've tried using a different port and searching for the driver. I checked Kodak's website for an updated driver. There seemed to be a knowledge base article for this problem, but every time I clicked on the link, it crashed my browser.

The camera is working fine -- I just can't get the pictures off of it!

Try a different USB port (if running vista) - or try not plugging into a USB hub if doing so.

Are you running windows Vista? If so usb drivers can be deleted, so upon plugging in it will force a reinstall (complete) of the driver. If you are let me know and i'll post instructions. If you are running XP - try getting a USB - SD card reader, that way you never have to plug the camera in, just the memory to card to copy the jpeg's/avi's off the card.

I cudnt connect my camera with my computer

1st, try using another USB port. Some ports are only able to recognize something like a mouse, or speakers. 2nd, make sure that when you connect your camera to the USB cord, that your camera is off. Then, once connected, turn the camera on to 'AUTO'. This will force your computer to find a way to review the media on the device. It will do one of three things. It will open your Kodak Easyshare program, ask you what you would like to use to open the media (choose either your existing software or open with your computer's media software) or it will open a new page and show two or three folders with your photos inside.
Hope it helps!

Downloading pictures.

Did it come with the software disk? If it didn't you can go to the Kodak website and download the software. This is the site for the tutorial on your camera: and here is the site for the software:
I've found that other software will work on occasion with my Kodak but Kodak's is the best. I would install the easyshare software then after that plug in your camera to allow the computer to recognize it.

Can't download my pix to my computer

As this is an old post, do you still require help?

Have you contacted Kodak tech support?

Apart from the Kodak software to connect the camera, you could use a USB card reader.

Take the memory card from your camera and put in the card reader.... it transfers MUCH faster than directly from the camera too.

Problem Uploading Pics through USB Port

Are you using the Kodak software?

Try uninstalling and re-installing it, remembering to re-boot the computer after uninstalling, before re-installing.

A MUCH faster way of transferring pics, is to use a USB card reader. Take the memory card from the camera and place it in the card reader.
