System hangs for one reason: processor is not working well and that can be caused by: 1. processor cooler is not working well or is full of dust. 2. processor is dying.
Screen shakes with different colours because of magnetic interference. This could be from any other electronic devices near your Display such as speakers. Try to use the "Degaus" option in your screen wich is under Monitor menu somewhere or remove other electronic devices that might interfere.

There are different possibilities for system hang up. I want you to find it your self from following my simple instruction.

1. (when computer is turn on) Check temperature... overheating can cause system to hang up, it can cause the system to reboot, it can cause the fatal error message and turns your screen to blue. Overheating is cause by exhaust fan or blower not working. Find this blower or exhaust fan on top of the processor, as built in fan in your video card, attached on your power supply and on the casing of your computer. Replace non working fan or blower.

2. Check video card...faulty video card can cause your system to hang up. It can cause also your system to go on blank screen. Most common problem is loosen connection of video card from the motherboard. Disconnect and reseat the video card properly. Inspect the fan, if not working then video card will overheat and system fail. If you previously see moving colors in your screen especially small boxes, or discoloration and screen going black and white then it means video card is already failing. You will need to replace it.

3. Check for hardware failure. keyboard, mouse lan card can cause your system to halt and hang. You will need to disconnect this first when booting and see if by removing this hardware will complete the system to boot up to operating system. Replace faulty one.

4. Harddisk failure. when computer reset or will not boot up completely then hard disk usually cause this problem. Initial remedy is to reseat its connection sata, ide or power supply connector.
If you hear ticking sound in the harddisk or excessive vibration then it will need replacement.

5. Operating system corrupted. this can cause your computer not to boot up properly and hang the system. Reformat and reinstallation of operating system is required.

6. Power supply failure. you need to check the output voltage. dropping of voltage can be cause bi leaking capacitor in the power supply unit. replace it with exact value. Voltage should read +12VDC for yellow, +5VDC for red. and should be stable even with load.

let me know which one cause it.

My system is hanged after few minutes

Well the issue could either be with the bas sectors on hard disk or faulty RAM or a burned capacitor on the motherboard.

The very first thing I would suggest you is to reinstall windows operating system. If the issue persists then run the system with another RAM and observe the performance.

if the issue persists then it could be with the motherboard or the power supply. Manually check the capacitors on the board for any leaking or faulty capcitors.

Let me know if you need any further assistance

Mechanical you need to take the drive out and disassemble the casing. I seen one that the CD actully broke into millions of pieces. I was not there to experience the happening but was there to help save the drive.

Biostar gf7100p-m7s hard drive not working

I would flash the BIOS, sounds like something is corrupted, if that doesn't work then the blame has to be the HDD, you need to try booting with a different one, maybe a PATA too see if your problem goes away or changes. Any PATA will do, this is only a test.

Another SATA would even be better. Good luck.

Hang problem

there are too many causes which result in hanging.
You might be using some software which uses your all resources ie. > 60% CPU and/or 100% of RAM in this case your system may hang
  • To fix it notice on which program it gets hangs, if there is any specific one it need to be check-out or uninstall.
Your RAM might cause hanging.
  • Reseat your RAM, remove RAM clean its contact points and place it gently at its position. Or you have to change your RAM.
Over Heat CPU may cause hanging.
  • Check that CPU fan is ok and its working properly.
  • Your motherboard might be dusty, which cause short cuirtkit
  • clean your motherboard with vaccume cleaner.

Thanks
Iqbal

ASUS A7V8X hangs @ splash screen

Just because an installation may hang does not mean the board is dead. If possible I would connect the hard drive into another PC and check for a virus. While in another pc you can remove important data from the drive & copy to a CD/DVD. Than download the drives Mfg's drive software setup program that will run in Dos mode from a diskett. Reformat the drive and install a fresh copy of windows. You might find that is the only problem. Xp does not always install correctly. There may be a software or hard ware making windows hang.
