My Panasonic DMC-TZ3 lost the ability to open the automatic lens cover and therefore no pictures can be taken. I took one picture and a few minutes later I wanted to take another and realized the problem. Is there anything that I can do myself to fix the problem. Thank you, Billy Winer

Sometimes if you strike the camera, while powered, and against the palm of your other hand, it will open, and may operate correctly for sometime before maybe having to do it again.

This is a very common design problem with the TZ3. I would be sure to get it to a panasonic repair shop before warranty runs out. If it has run out, I would preasure panasonic to fix THEIR design problem for free. Especially if it began to occur during your warranty.

Its a Panasonic DMC-TZ3. all on a sudden, LCD is not working. Monitors remains dark when I press 'On' button and the photo taken are also dark. However old photos on the SD card I can in the screen...

Hello

If you can view the pictures previously taken with the camera on the camera LCD, but the new photos just come out black, this is most probably a blown ccd.

This is a expensive component to replace, and you will also need specialized equipment to do this yourself.

I would suggest that you take your camera to your nearest repair shop and let them test the ccd.

Hope this can be of help.

Kind regards

Lumix DMC-FX33. Keep on getting "Please turn camera off and then on again" over and over again. Occasionally I can focus and take a picture and the camera works for a day or two. Then the problem...

I have the same problem. It resulted when we used the camera is windy conditions with very fine sand blowing around. Some of those grains are lodged in the automatic lens cover and in the autofocus/zoom mechanism in the lens. I can actually hear the grinding as the camera tries to open.
Now, how do I fix it?

Pictures are shadowy with panasonic tz3

Is the flash going off? Have you tried slow shutter sync with your flash indoors for some great shots.

Panasonic DMC-TZ3 72 dpi problem

Sounds like Photoshop's setting, or default setting, is to import picture at its maximum size. If you RESIZE pic on Photoshop, it shoud automatically increase DPI while reducing physical size.

The other thing to be aware, TZ3 defaults to a certain jpg compression. You can minimize compression of data with settings options on TZ3, but I doubt this has anything to do with your PhotoShop issue.

Also, in SIMPLE mode you can select a physical size for photo, even after pic is taken(resize), on camera.

Hopes this helps.

The TZ3 has a design problem with their new automatic lens cover, ie, manual lense cap on TZ1 was illiminated on TZ3.

Make sure your lense cover is completely retracted in front of the lense. If not, nudge it fully opened and see if this solves you problem. If it does, contact Panasonic with your problem. If not under warranty, tell them you want them to fix 'their' problem on your camers. Google it on the net and see how common this problem is.
