Hi The 2x1gb rams just make my pc freeze

Hi Ronen thanks for your help the other day re my complicated Medion I tried putting the 2 x 1gb sticks of ram in the same slots the original 256 mbs were in but the pc just locks up & doesn't even start windows. I can get a refund from the seller but have read various articles about having to put so many sticks in certain banks etc. So maybe it's just a matter of getting the right combination but i'm scared of hashing up my pc again. Its a Medion MD MT6 (8383xl) any suggestions or do u think the ram is faulty?

may simply be the 2 1gb sticks you were trying to use are not computable. You need to make sure the ram is the same speed,etc..

I'm wanting to add ram memory. Will a Micron 2GB PC3200 DDR-400 ECC Reg ram work? Thanks! Harold

I dont think it will.
It is the right type and speed, but it says your maximum module size is 1 GB.
So you will need 2x1GB sticks for a max of 2GB

I upgraded my Ram to 4 new 1gb but does NOT open windows

It is possible that one or more sticks are bad. Try them each one at a time and see if it works. If it boots with one, then shutdown and put in another until it doesn't boot. Once it doesn't boot, remove the one you just put in again and test the others as well. Oh and please take a moment to give this solution a fixya rating. Thanks! :c)

Installing 2GB of memory in my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2020

Here is the problem, the laptop take 2GB RAM. 1GB in each slot, so get 2X1GB RAM. They are cheap now. You need 2, 1GB sticks of ram. For cheap prices go to Newegg.com

Have a nice day!

Memory installation

bev,
all the DIM's must be of same type and same size to work, otherwise it creates problem, like no boot, boot with lowest memory etc.

There is no problem in your PC, its technical issue you can not use two ore more different type RAM at the same time in a motherborad.

Thanks
Iqbal

I have same problem as ninja9er

hi,

First try Using one at a time, since its not advisable to use memory chips with variable bus speeds i.e (333 & 266).
Since IBM Computer are little complicated i would suggest your to call the customer care or Tech support for assistance in buying a Memory module. In that way you can cross check the memory module you have bought is compatible with the computer.

Kindly give a feed back to Improve my statistics and to see If it was helpful for you...

Thanks and Regards
