You'll need the serial number from the radio which may require you to take the stereo out of the car. Before you take the stereo out, while the ignition is off, press and hold the 1 & 6 on your deck. While holding the buttons turn the car on (make sure the deck is also on) it may flash two codes on the screen. If that's not the case, use a plastic tool to carefully pull the black plastic trim from around the stereo. Once that's off there will be a few screws to remove. Then write down the info from on top of the stereo (I like to take a picture). Call your local Honda Parts department. Give them the serial number and they will give you a code. Sometimes they will ask for prof of ownership.
You need visit the dealer to obtain this lock code; this is one unique code for each stereo, so, anybody could send it in the internet. Sometimes, in the dealer, you'll need to pay for this service.
this is a major concern with all new OEM stereos the only real answer is to see the dealer I know at our dealership the service manager will provide the code for free just to enter the customers name into the database
I just changed the battery in my 08 accord same thing there is a code on the left side of glove box.type that code in using the preset numbers it will be on white sticker
UnfortunatelyHONDA codes are only available from the Main Dealer or
by using a Radio Decoding Service who will connect a laptop to read the
working code inside your radio`s memory chip (EEPROM)
take the stereo out of the car .get the numbers off of it .then just phone a dealer and they should give it to you.or post it here and somone will know
I had the same issue with mine. Call a dealer, they will ask for a number that's on the back or maybe the top of the stereo. They will also need proof that the car isn't stolen and is actually your's before they will give you the code to unlock it. Hope this helps.
I won a 2004 Honda Civic.
I had a bad battery and my car would not start. I had someone jump start it and it now has a new battery. The car runs fine but the stereo will not play am/fm or CD's. Regardless of what I do I get an "Error E code"
