Question about Refrigerators
LG fridge freezer model # GR-642AP.
Fridge display flashes, beeps and then disappears leaving only the set temperature of the fridge on display. Beeps when it reappears. This occurs every 10-20 seconds. Have switched the unit off for approx 10 mins and switched back on only for the problem to continue. The beeping is driving me mad.
SOURCE: I have an LG Fridge
May have an earth problem, have a refrigeration technician check the earth terminal in the back of power point and back of refrigerator, also check the connections of plugs to the printed circuit board (PCB) in the fridge.

Thanks so much for the advice. I just gently pried the door sensor switch on my Samsung RB1855SL out with a butter knife and then pulled out the electrical connection and it fired up right away. It looks like some orange juice seeped in and corroded it. What a relief to have the fridge working again, not to mention to not have to listen to the beeping.

Sounds like you have a bad door switch. Depending on the age of the fridge, it might still be under warranty. If it's not, then you might be able to access the door switch yourself and pull it out & replace it.

our problem was fridge door alarm ,no cooling ,light out ,Freezer ok. Turned out to be the fridge side of the fridge/freezer door switch . Removing the double switch (it's a press fit) enables the fridge fan to work while waiting replacement. Replaced with new double switch now we have a light too.

Try disconnecting power cord for ten minutes (turning off is not enough). See if that does reset the fridge.
If that does not help, then check if there is ice forming in evaporator coil at the back of the fridge. Eventually wait one or two extra day. If ice starts forming and fridge quits cooling, then you have a problem with the defrost system. Likely the thermostat or the defrost timer.
IF the unit keeps cooling regularly, and defrost is OK, then it may be a disconnected temperature sensor. This will cause beeping, and fridge cooling regularly.
About defrost control, see this article: When the fridge is not cooling ...
