Hello,

It is probably the lens, there might be some dirt stuck on it. Use a CD lens cleaner, it is available on any CD/DVD stores. You just basically insert that CD lens cleaner into your DVD player, hit PLAY and then after around 2 minutes, it's done cleaning.

Buy a cd/dvd lens cleaner they run about $8-$10 at the store. If that doesn't work the laser is probably bad.

Will not play blu-ray movie Date Night. I have tried 3 movies

Will it play other movies? If so, your "Date Night" disc is almost certianly defective. Try it somewhere else

If not, the player has a problem. Try cleaning the laser with a laser lens cleaner (something like this: http://www.buy.com/prod/memorex-cd-dvd-laser-lens-cleaner-6-brush-drive-cleaner-memorex-cd-dvd/q/sellerid/11408470/loc/101/10340589.html) Blu-Ray is more sensitive to dust because of the thinner laser it uses. If that doesn't work, more likely than not the laser has died or requires adjustment.

[Just for the record, I had an early DVD player (I forgot the brand name) that would play every movie fine except "Stuart Little". This movie worked fine on other players, but not in mine. It would enter the menu>special features all by itself. Let us hope you are not experiencing a similar case.]

Portable dvd player says loading but wont play

This is because of the problem with the pickup unit.. Your try to clean the lens with the help of the lens cleaner, if the problem still persist then open the panel, clean and apply the white grease on the moving parts of the Disk reader.

Caution always remove the main power before open the panel.

Movie does not play

Try playing Different DVDs, Second Make sure which Region Disk your playing is it Region 1 or Region 2, If your DVD player is Manufactured in USA it plays only Region 1, If its manufactured in UK it plays only Region 2, If still you face same problem Use Lens Cleaner, If still you face same problem do Reset.
To Reset Dvd player, Remove DVD from Dvd Player, Unplug Power chord from Walloulet for 15minutes so player goes to Defult Factor Settings, Then plug back again Power chord. Turn on Dvd player insert DVD, It should Play or else Claim Warranty.

Samsung DVD-4600 DVD/VCR Player

My Smasung DVD/VCR Combo stopped reading DVDs because of a dirty read head. It started by only playing disks sometimes, and progressed to never playing disks. I assumed it was a dirty laser lens so I bought a lens cleaner set. Unfortunately my player wouldn't play the cleaner disk.

So I took it apart and cleaned the laser lens manually with some isopropyl alcohol (the clenser that came with my cleaning disk), and a lens cloth (that came with my glasses). Just open the case (starting with the screws in the back) and remove the snap in cross panel that obscures the lens of the DVD portion. Put a drop of cleanser on the lens and gently wipe it with the cloth.

Oh and by the way, I take no responsibility if you break your own player while following my instructions. My own DVD player was far out of warranty at the time I cracked it open.
