No display but the computer turns on.

could be an issue with the graphics controller or with the monitor. first, verify if the monitor is actually working. try it on another computer or video source. if it works, make sure that you have a working video cable and check to make sure the video input source (dvi, vga, rgb, hdmi.. etc) selected on your monitor is the correct one that you are using. if you have ruled out the monitor, video source and cables, you can then test if another monitor will work with the computer. if same thing happens, meaning nothing on display even the manufacturer or BIOS screen does not show up when you turn on the computer, it is most likely the video controller. you may either get the motherboard replaced or install an add-in video card if the integrated video controller only has one video connector.

My acer monitor p191w will turn on acer logo comes on goes black then a screen comes out saying no signal then turns of light turns yellow ...tried restarting monitor nothing

Connect the monitor to a different computer, to see if the monitor works at all.

Connect a different monitor to your computer, to see if your computer really is "sending" a video-signal through the "data" cable. If not, then either the data-cable or the video-card inside the computer is faulty.

Its in hibernate mode doesnt wnt to get out of it

Turn your computer off and turn it back on. See if the video comes back. If it doesn't then try another known working monitor on the computer. If you get video with the 2nd monitor then that means the original monitor is bad. If you still don't get video with the 2nd monitor then that means there is an issue with the CPU because you have no video output.

Monitor does not turn on after the computer is turned on. Just like there is no input coming from the computer.

Take this monitor and attach it to another computer... if it works then the problem is with your video card. Change the video card.

Dell computer monitor wont come on when I turn

When you turn on most dell monitors they come on with a yellow light, then turn green when the monitor and video source synch. If your light is not turning from yellow to green, your monitor is either dead or not getting a signal from the video source it's plugged into. Verify in your BIOS settings that you have selected to output video through an installed card and not from the motherboard source. If the BIOS settings are correct, your monitor has died. If the light is turning green after you turn the computer on, press the menu button on the monitor and adjust the brightness/contrast until you have a picture. If you don't see anything when the menu button is pressed, then again your monitor is likely dead.

Transfer Videos to My Computer

Hi, I would think you could plug it in with the supplied cable to your computer. Once connected, turn on your camcorder, then navigate to the My computer Icon on your desktop, open, then find removeable media, should come up like any other harddrive, open that, then find your video files, copy and paste.

Can't switch on comp..amber light flashing?

That usually means no video signal is coming out of the computer.

Try another known working monitor on the computer and then turn on the computer and see if you still get no video on the screen.

If that doesn't work then with the computer turned off, reseat each stick of memory one stick at a time in each slot one at a time. After each reseat, try turning on the computer and see if you get video on the monitor. If you have another stick of known good working memory you may want to try it in your computer.

If that doesn't work then turn off the monitor and go ahead and reseat the processor as well then turn on the computer and see if you get video.

If that doesn't work then go ahead and make sure only the power connectors are hooked up to the motherboard and then turn on the comoputer. If you still don't get video then you know sure at this point that the motherboard is bad in your computer.

No display (black) - power light is amber color

The video signal is not reaching your monitor, check the pins on the connector from the monitor to the computer, then check the video card:

Turn off your computer, unplg the power, and then take out the video card. Wait 5 minutes and then put the card back into the computer and turn it on. For onboard video; turn off the computer, unplug the power, then hold down the power button on the front for 5-10 seconds, then plug back in and turn on.

Make sure the video card is snug in the AGP/PCI slot. If this is built-in video, try borrowing a video card from another computer and install it in this one. If the borrowed card works, then replace you card. If video is built in, then you can disble the onboard video and use the new card without having to replace your motherboard.

Black screen

How old is the computer? Make sure that the power light comes onto the monitor when you plug it in, should be orange and then turn green when video card syncs with it when PC is turned on. If you are getting black screen when PC is powered on:
1. Bad video card
2. Bad video cable
3. Bad monitor
1Solution: Try using a different monitor attached to this same PC and see if it works. If it does, then its the monitor, its cable, or its power supply. If it doesn't work, then its the video card or the video cable coming from monitor.
