Hello!

Infront or in the side of your monitor there is menu option. either you select the right adjustment by selecting the left or right menu then continue pressing the until it go back to the center. refer to monitor manual for the adjustment menu of the screen.

Does not turn on

Hello

With any monitor, check the following to determine if the issue is MONITOR related or COMPUTER related.

1. Verify the monitor is receiving power - use a known good power outlet and plug it into the monitor

2. Samsung monitors have a light on the power button - are you getting any color light from this? Orange means it is in "stand by" mode and is waiting for the PC to send it a signal. Green means the monitor is getting a signal from the PC and the monitor is on.

3. With the monitor on, press the buttons on the monitor to bring up the OSD (on screen display) that changes the monitor settings. If you have a green light on the power button and press one of these buttons (AUTO works best), this will display the monitor adjustment options on the screen.

If you see the on screen adjustments, your monitor is working and the issue may be with your PC. Move the monitor to another PC and verify the monitor is working correctly.

IF you don't see anything on the screen and the power light is green, the monitor has failed.

This could be the lights that illuminate the screen have failed (something that happened to my Samsung Syncmaster monitors after about 6 years of use) or the screen has stopped functioning. In either case, replacement parts are hard to find and a monitor swap is likely.

Samsung screen is not calibrated properly. There is a line on the right side of the screen that I can't get rid of.

Unfortunately the line didn't show up in the video.

1) New LCD screen?
Should have an Installation CD Disk that comes with it. Use it if so.
Has the Drivers on it.

Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device.

Don't know which version of the Windows O/S you have.
The device in this case is the LCD monitor.

2) What is the NATIVE screen resolution for the LCD monitor.
Look up the specs on the monitor using it's Model Number on back.

For example I installed an HP 2009M 20-inch widescreen monitor, along with the 26-inch RCA ENV HDTV I use for a monitor.

I had to use the drivers from the disk, but could still not set the native resolution in Display Properties.
There is an alternate resolution to the native one that can be used.
The drivers from the disk made it so.

The 20 inch widescreen is 1600 x 900 (Pixels)
The 26 inch HDTV is set at 1360 x 768 (Pixels)

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list.
In the Display Properties window click on the Settings tab.

What is the Screen resolution setting? What is it supposed to be?
The Slider on the line is clicked on with the left mouse button, left mouse button held down; then the Slider is slid to the left to decrease screen resolution, or to the right to increase with the mouse.

Color quality should be set to High (32-bit)

1) Installing software (Drivers) from the Installation disk, (Or from the monitor manufacturers support website);
And,
2) Setting the screen resolution;

doesn't help, replace the monitor cable with a known to be good one.

Still no? Your LCD monitor is going out.

My computer's all windows screen has suddenly shrunk today with a black border in right and left side. Now how can I get ride of this problem and make my windows screen normal again?

It's probably the monitor either was adjusted or is having a problem.

Use the buttons on the monitor to adjust the horizontal width on the screen...This should stretch your windows display across the screen if you adjust properly. Most monitors also have an auto adjust option...you can try that too.

I can't tell you exactly what the menu options are, because I don't know the buttons on your monitor. but if you find the menu, you should be able to make the adjustment.

Good Luck

Assuming you are running a Windows operating system...

Use your mouse to RIGHT CLICK on an open area of your desktop.

LEFT CLICK on PROPERTIES.

This should bring you to the DISPLAY PROPERTIES menu.

LEFT CLICK on SETTINGS.

From here you can adjust the screen resolution and other properties like font to whatever you like.

Good luck and please post back with how you make out.

Display problem with Dell Inspiron 537

If it displays nothing at all through the boot process it's either the cable or the VGA card. It may be that the computer has gone into hibernate as it was left on overnight. Try pressing and holding the powerr button.

My computer's display has moved!

I have seen apparently random movement on crt monitors..

Usually it needs nothin more than a small adjustment from the OSD (on screen display) if you have buttons on the front of your monitor they are for the OSD your manual will give you more detail about it. Or if you dont have a manual then having a little "play" will not do any harm if you dont adjust any settings.. You will normally see some icons in a box on the screen when you press the correct button on the monitor.

the icon you are interested in may look like two screens on top of each other

My samsung lcd monitor is very dark and can't be adjusted

Hi strat1971,

So the monitor buttons don't work also right? Yeah, normally you should try to adjust the brightness control first on the monitor. If that doesn't work next step would be ofcourse to check the cabling of the monitor to the computer. Try reseating the video cable from the back of the computer. If no go, then the next step is running the monitor self-test. You can do this by just disconnecting the video cable from the back of the computer, and leaving the monitor plugged into the power outlet.

All monitors has a form of self-test that it does to check the functionality, usually a picture or a color bar display on the screen or even a message that the monitor is on self-test. If it's still dim on that screen, then sadly you already have a hardware problem that may require to you buy a new monitor.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

I had the same problem same model. The image was off center to the right and it couldn't be fixed by the auto-image adjust or the manual adjust.

My solution was really simple, I moved a video player (RealPlayer) onto the monitor and maximized the screen, then pressed auto-adjust once. It worked.

This a warranty Item if it is under a year old. Do not mess with it. Call Samsung. Either your Video card has went out or your monitor is bad. You can try the monitor on another computer.
I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.

My scren is not showing my info bar on the bottom and there is a one and a hlf inch black line on the right of my screen and ahalf ince black line on the upper portions of my screen and my screen itself if...

You can adjust your display through 1 of two ways.
1. Somewhere on your monitor are buttons that allow you to adjust your screen position, ( left- right-up-down, widen / stretch in both direction, up & down at the same time & left & right at the same time. If you still have the manual for the monitor it will explain how to do this. Every monitor is not the same & each monitor has their own way to adjust monitor positions.

2. This might be a bit harder but all you'll need is youe mouse.
Find an emty space on your desktop, ( yeah I know it's messed up right now, did I mention this would be harder?).
I want you to right click once on your desktop & that will open a small pop-up menue. Left click once on Properties

You have just opened your display Properties. ( I need to mention just like the monitor adjustment screen is different from one to another, your video card will also be different.) My instructions should be close for you to adjust your screen.

So you have Display Properties on your screen. Click the settings tab, than click the Advanced button. Here click the Adapter tab. Look down & you'll see a button ( List All Modes).
Click it. The mode screen will open. There is a scroll bar on the right. Slide the scroll bar down & pick out the setting you want.
Most people use setting - 1024 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz
Click Ok & than Apply. Your screen should adjust it's self.
If it does not, than someone messed with the monitor adjustments & you'll have to re-adjust from the monitor.

Good luck!
