My factory installed baffle fell off. The baffle (or shoe) is the part that turns the laundry. There are three of these inside the laundry machine. I ordered a replacement, but I can't seem to get it installed/connected. Help!

Re: Replacement baffle installation
Its a little tricky but can be done. Can you remove the top panel of your washer?? 3 screws along the back lip and the entire top will slide back and off. theres a little black hose leading from the soap dispensor to the top of the outer tub assy. its only pushed into the tub and is real flexible, pull it out .you see through the maybe 2inch hole and see he inner basket. as you rotate the basket from inside with your hand the inner baffle(s) will line up to the hole and depending on date of manufacture. they might have put a small stainless screws in from behind to hold baffle in place, ifso remve the screws and the baffle (although a little tricky should slide toward the rear of machine to remove, and pull toward the front to reinstall

You can remove one of the baffles inside the spin basket; that gives you a pretty good size opening. There is one screw that holds the baffle in place; when you remove that screw you should be able to slide the baffle and it will come out. Sometimes though, at the factory they might, or might not have, pushed a little tap that will make it difficult to slide the baffle. There is place for a second screw; make sure they did not install that second screw. I guess it all depends on which day your spin basket was put together whether or not they pushed the tab, or put the second screw. Good luck!
yes they snapp right in place, it also comes with a scrw to secure them after installing, hte screwhole is acess by reomving teh top of the unit, and from there you will see a small black rubber hose leading to the top of the tub assy( from the dispensor area) after pulling that hose out of the hole, you can spinn hte tub by hand untilk you line up the baffle hole... thea prt number for the baffle kit is 8182233
These are called drum baffles. They can be found at repairclinic.com. Type in your model number and search for item #1058883. A set of three of them goes for about $34. It is cheaper to buy them in this quantity as a single baffle ranges in price from $22 to $34, depending on which website you go to. The baffles should have installation instructions with them. Of not, let me know. I hope this helps you.
This advice from Sears to replace baffles only applies to dryers. The baffles for the washer are installed from inside the basket. If you can't locate mounting from inside the basket, then the entire basket/tub will have to be removed and disassembled.(big job)... But I am pretty sure they mount from inside. Washer or dryer, there are three screws in the rear along the top. Remove screws, slide top toward rear and lift off.
