Question about Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook
You know Michael, Once your computer freeze this causes is these.
1. Present of virus in the system
2. Hard drive damage
3. Memory mismatch
1. be sure to scan with a potent antivirus if not work, format reinstall the windows
2. If you do number one and still freeze then verify the memory and the hard drive.
In your case the problem started when you insert memory i guess it was mismatch memory.
guidelines for memory:
Do not use two different capacity memory in the computer.
it should be thesame manufacture date if possible and should be thesame model and sizes and it should be identical to each other.
You should get the correct Specification of your memory. example DDR 400,
You computer battery is only is less than US$ i think its very cheap. but he troubleshoot and he replace the hardrive i don't know if that is the case. PCU or CPU ..when computer still boot there is no problems with this. memory computer will not boot if memory is damage.
Hard drive, Less than 2,500.00 pesos 80 GB
