On my 2003 Chevy Silverado, the A/C compressor won't kick on. Just blows out warm/hot air.

Actually, we were having trouble with it last year, and there was freon in it last year.. and actually let some out thinking there was too much in it at that time. Any other suggestions?

The ac system may need freon added,if the system is low,or out of freon,it will not allow the ac compressor to come on.

Ahhh yeah, there is a whole lot of things that will cause this, the low pressure switch could be at fault, compressor clutch could be bad, compressor relay could be bad,and it might need to be reset. The negative battery cable has to be removed to reset the ac system, but it is better if someone has a code reader and can erase all codes stored in the computer, you can loose memory if the battery is disconnected.

You still may not have enough freon in the system low freon will cause this,if you reset it,and the ac starts working,if the compressor starts cutting on,and off it is low on freon.Warning if you disconnect the battery,it could wipe the memory to the computer, truck will not run if this happens,so good luck,if yopu have had the battery disconnected, and it did o k,then your o k.

Either the fuse, relay, low pressure switch on the low side line near the receiver, your actually low on R-12 freon/refrigerant R134a,or the magnetic coil that holds the clutch in to turn the compressor is bad,you can test all the above problems with a 12 volt tester and a manifold gauge for refrigerant and add R134a legally, but you need a license to purchase R-12 and install it

1997 chevy silverado blows hot air only through vents

If you know for a fact the compressor is running and one of the lines is cold, I would look for a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater and evaporator.

2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 z71 4x4 the ac wont kick off after key is out of the ignition and it only blows hot air.

I am assuming you mean the blower will not stop with the key off.
The compressor can't run with the engine off.
I would look for a stuck blower relay.

The ac is blowing hot air the freon charge is good but the ac still blows hot air whats the problem with my 2000 chevy silverado?

Is the compressor kicking on? If not and the pressure is in the normal range then I would say that the low pressure switch is stuck. It is located on the canister right beside of where you hook up the freon. Unplug it and cross out the plug and see if it starts then.
