Thank soooo much Benham!!!!!!! I would give u a hug if you were here in my house. I thought the oven was broken. I only had it for couple of months and it is brand new. I held the broiler button down and it is on (f). My oven is normal again. Thank you very much.
Thank you @benham! That worked for me tooo! Holding down the broil button until the C popped up then used my arrows to convert it back to F.

if you cant program it for more than the 270 you may have changed it from farienhiet ( bad spelling) to celcius. pushing and holding broil may switch it back.

probably the element. to save wasting money, check continuity with a multimeter

I'm afraid you might need a new thermostat. The only other thing you might check is to make sure that your 'vent' is not blocked with a pan or tea kettle etc., but I'm pretty sure it is a thermostat.

Is this a gas unit? If so you might have a weak oven igniter.

sounds like board to me, it could alsovbe a problem with the interface like a bad key. self clean runs very high temp and the whirlpool and kitchenaid built ins have been bad about self clean cooking the electronics. the board is expensive but easy easy to replace
