Question about JVC KD-G230 CD Player
Bought a new JVC KD-230 yesterday from Circit City. Removed old unit and was very careful to match all the right color combinations of wires from power cord to wiring harness. No mix ups, honest. Each is well connected with a wire nut. Unit is well grounded and antennae wire is inserted. Unit will not react at all, as though there is no power. Tried the reset. No help. Removed the unit, reinstalled the old one (at least I used to get AM and FM from it) but now it too acts like the new unit; NOTHING. Also, now suddenlt the electric door locks will only work if the ignition is turned on, whereas used to work without the key anywhere near the ignition.
This seems like you have accidently rewired part of your electrics. You may have wired the power wire into the wrong place, and also wired your electric door locks into your accessories. YOU NEED TO BACKTRACK. Find you doorlock wiring and get it back to a constant power supply. Best bet is to wire your power wire of unit to cigarette lighter by splicing the wires or jacking the outlet at the back. Here is a guide to install your stereo. Following those steps and see if you went wrong somewhere.
