what sort of mixer is it? If it is a small hand help are the mixing blades fully inserted up to the little bumps on the side of the rods of the mixer blades where they attach to mixer. If a larger mixer like a kenwood, agin make sure the blade / s are properly inserted.
motor will hum but no blade turn if bottom seal worn and material leaks into shaft. Rekove drive head and try turning shaft if nio go dissasemble entire unit ,clean and service, replace seals
It can happen that the attachments fall off the shaft as they have in time become loose. In this case simply press the spring blades lightly together with a pair of pliers
The blades pull straight off the shaft. If you look closely you will see a small notch on the blade that fits a tab on the shaft. This keeps the blade turning at the same speed as the shaft.
Anyway, pulling straight down on the blade should get it off. You might try boiling the tip in water to soften whatever gunk is holding it on. Be careful you don't burn your fingers when trying to pull off the blade after boiling it.
