Question about IBM ThinkPad DVD_ROM Ultrabay (73p3270) Internal DVD Drive
A while ago, I dropped my IBM ThinkPad, and since then I can not push back the DVD Rom to close and play anything. Does anyone know to to fix that? I think it might be a switch inside that is broken. Does anyone know where to buy a replacement?

Internal the pickup assy. (the laser) there are three components that read the discs, one for DVD one for CD and one for the DVD-ROM its likely that the DVD-ROM laser has gone out. Take the drive out and get the part number and look it up online on ebay or the like :-)
