Question about Washing Machines
My washmachine all of suddon stoped the spinning cycle and has a burning rubber smell when i went to check on it. my main question is how do i get the front cover off to take a look at the insides? lawrence boyd (859)-866-0765
Depending on the washer, you don't have to remove the front. If you need, you can easier remove the rear, but most of the machines I've worked on had direct access from the bottom without having to remove any doors at all. It sounds like you fried a clutch mechanism or if it's belt driven maybe just the belt has broken. If it's a belt, no brainer... replace the belt. If it's the clutch mechanism, you might consider the cost of the mechanism - vs - replacement of the machine.
