Mine is a JVC FS-G5 system.

Error 162 is displayed when trying to play a CD, then CD READ blinks indefinitely on the screen. I can only open the disc tray manually (remove the left panel, the one with the yellow sticker on it and push the gears that control the disc trays with a screwdriver).

By open the disc trays manually, I have been able to remove 4 out of 5 CDs that were stuck inside.

I think that my mother may have caused the problem by inserted 2 CDs in the same disc tray.

SOURCE: I have a JVC cd

Is this an original music CD or songs copied onto a blank CD?

SOURCE: I have a JVC cd

The CD's are all originals. The CD player is a 5 draw stacker unit and the problem occurs with all 5 drawers. It tries to read the CD in each compartment but comes up with "No Disc" each time.
I have tried a CD lens cleaner disc but it fails to pick up that as well.

Jvc UX-L30. tHE UNIT DO NOT WANT TO GO ON. NO POWER ON UNIT.

Check the fuse to the stereo on your cars fuse pannel. If that is good check the fuse on the unit it self. You will have to remove the unit from your dash inorder to do this as it is on the back of most units. If that is all good, you may need to replace the unit.

I have the Subwoofer plugged into the output and have it turned ON but it's still not working!

It only drives a self-powerd sub.

The manual...

Page 17:

Setting the Subwoofer Information

Register whether you have connected a subwoofer or not.

Before you start, remember....

• There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the setting is canceled before you finish, start from step 1 again.

On the front panel ONLY:

1. Press SETTING repeatedly until "SUBWOOFER" appears on the display.

The display changes to show the current setting.

2. Press CONTROL UP / DOWN to select "YES" or "NO."

• Each time you press the button, the display alternates between "YES" and "NO."

YES: Select this when a subwoofer is connected.

NO: Select this when no subwoofer is used.

Note:

You cannot use SUBWOOFER OUT ON/OFF on the front panel (see page 14) and adjust the subwoofer output level (see below) when "SUBWOOFER" is set to "NO."

Then continue with setting its relative level and other things.

I recently bought a NR1501 receiver and a CD5004 CD player at the same time. I don't use the tuner as I have a separate DAB radio. I use the Aux2 source for the radio input and the CD source for the CD...

How did you isolate it to the CD player?

Of course you know that this fault lies in the realm of the Twilight Zone as no 'intelligence' or commands are exchanged between the units via their RCA cables.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Marantz-NR1501-Receivers-manual/id/23506ag717/t/2/

I'd try to eliminate the posibility that erroneous remote control commands are getting into the receiver from somewhere, either your own remotes or some other I/R source. Block the I/R sensor on the receiver and see if it switches spontaneously. You may haved a rogue I/R source in the room.

Do not allow direct sunlight, an inverter fluorescent light or other strong source of light to shine onto the player's infrared receptor window. Otherwise, the operation of the remote controller may be disabled.

• Bear in mind that operating the remote controller may cause other devices operated by infrared rays to be operated by mistake.

• The remote controller cannot be operated if the space between the controller and the player's infrared receptor window is obstructed.

• Do not place any objects on top of the remote controller.

Doing so may cause one or more buttons to be held down which will cause the batteries to run down.
