The player is recognizing that a CD has been inserted but is not able to read it.
Sometimes the lens assembly becomes contaminated and obscures the laser. I'd try using a commercial "lens cleaning CD" two or three times and then try a CD again. These lens cleaning CD's are widely available. If cleaning does not help, the player need professional service.
Do you have a code that you had to enter to unlock the stereo? Have you tried to reset the stereo? Look in your owner's manual and look for a "RESET" button. If you don't have the manual, you can download one from pioneerelectronics.com.. Hope this helps...
I believe CDA extensions are actually just shortcuts to the audio file and not the actual audio file. You will want to convert your MP3's to .wav in order to play them in your radio. Roxio and Nero version 4 and higher will automatically do this for you and a version should have come with your computer or CD burner. Just place the MP3's in the record section and select output audio CD.
