Runs but does not heat up - Dryers

    no heat even though dryer is running. I checked for lint build up near the lint screen and at the exterior exhaust point.

    no heat but runs ,heating element works only when door open and door switch depressed

Most commen problem is the thermo fuse eather on the lint chut are the one on the heater canister

Dryer runs but does not heat. It runs continually


If your dryer never quits on its own, then your main selection switch may be bad. Even if the clothes don't dry, the timer should still only run to the end of the cycle and then stop. The problem with the lack of heat could also be caused by a bad timer switch, but that is rare. Usually it is caused by a bad igniter/heat sensor unit. Sometimes you can use a piece of sandpaper and clean the carbon off of the sensor and then it will sense heat when the pilot flame starts, then it will let the gas valve send gas to the main burner. The heat sensor it the part that is in the flame of the pilot light.

Most likely shorted the transformer for the magnatron,Its expensive to repair and you should consider just replacing the micro.

Heat runs constantly. Feels cool unless emergency


make sure out door unit is running not just the fan out side should hear compressor and in heating mode the large copper line should be hot fan should be in auto position on stat hope this helps

I have same problem with the kenmore elite. It runs but will not heat up. It is gas. Anyone same problems or easy solution.

you've probably jarred the heating element too hard and if they are older and brittle from heat they will break just looking at them
