Question about Xerox DocuColor 12 Color Copier

1 Answer

Xerox DocuColor problem

Has stapling "error" - however, it is not allowing me to print - it has shut down the machine. I don't want to staple so is there any way to override the error in order to print?
I have a DocuColor 240 - not listed but hope you can help anyway
Thank you!

The only thing I can tell you to do is turn off the machine. On the back of the finisher, unplug the finisher from the processor and power up the machine, it will reconfigure, plug and play like, and send the pages to the center tray.
Once you do that. Go into machine status and into faults. Print out a fault page and tell me the finisher/stapler code coming up so I can let you know exactly whats going on.
I hate that software puts a machine down for functions you do not 100 percent need.

Oh shoot. I gave you the DOC 40 information. Not 240, Sorry,
You can still disconnect the finisher and move it away from the machine.

on the xerox.com site you have to enter DC240 in the support search.
You will need a service call on the 240. Sorry, my mind clicked in on a DC40 when I read the problem.

Replace any new toner you put in the machine and shut it down for 2 min then power back on. If that doesn't fix it you will have to call Xerox service to replace a sensor that may be broken.

How do I reload staples into my Xerox WorkCentre 7530?

You did not indicate finisher? Xerox MFPs' come with the most finishing options of any manufacturer.... I included instructions for all of them below. Enjoy!
Solution : Load Staples in the Professional Finisher With Booklet Maker The stapler in the booklet maker uses two Staple Cartridges labeled R2 and R3. Booklet stapling requires that both Staple Cartridges be free of jammed staples.
WARNING: Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
  1. Make sure the printer has stopped copying or printing.
  2. Open the Finisher Front Door.

    wc7556-fin-pro-fnt-door-open.jpg
  3. Squeeze the orange R2 and R3 levers together and pull the Staple Cartridge unit out of the Finisher until it stops.

NOTE: The Staple Cartridge unit does not detach from the Finisher.

    wc7556-fin-pro-r2-r3.jpg
  4. Grasp the orange tabs on both sides of the Staple Cartridge and lift the cartridge out of the Staple Cartridge Unit.

  5. Push the new cartridge into the Staple Cartridge Unit.

  6. If no jammed staples are found, repeat step 4 - 6 for the other Staple Cartridge.
  7. When finished, return the Staple Cartridge Unit to its original position.

  8. Close the Finisher Front Door.

Solution : Load Staples in the Main Stapler of the Professional Finisher NOTE: Using Staple Cartridges other than the recommended staples may impair quality and performance. Only use only Staple Cartridges recommended for this Finisher.
WARNING: Do not perform this procedure when the printer is copying or printing.
  1. Make sure the machine has stopped copying / printing.
  2. Open the Finisher Front Door.

Load staples in xerox 430st

I will assume you are talking about the stapler on the finisher. That is a little tricky, but you will see a button on top of the finisher, you have to hold it down for a few seconds and the trays will lower. There is then a small door that opens and the staple cartridge is in there. You can either hold the button down again to raise the bins or turn the machine on and off.

  6. Close the Left Cover on the DADF until you hear it click into place.
  7. Raise the DADF, remove all the originals, and then lower the DADF.
  8. Make sure your originals are not torn, wrinkled, or folded. Load your originals again following the instructions on the Touch Screen.

NOTE: Originals that have already been scanned will automatically be skipped, and scanning will resume from the previous document sheet.

  9. Torn, wrinkled, or folded originals may cause paper jams and damage. Place the originals directly on the Document Glass to make new originals that can be scanned using the DADF.
