Purple light wont stay lit for pairing

I tried to pair my H700 with my Blackberry 8820. Originally I got them to pair and the bberry showed the H700 on its bluetooth list, but I couldnt get the H700 to pick up my calls or use it at all. So I deleted it from the Bberry bluetooth list and now I'm trying to re-pair it... But whenever I close the headset and hold down the call button, the light only stays purple for about 5 seconds (regardless of whether the bberry is on or off). Is there a way to manually reset the H700 so that it will show the constant purple light and I cant try to get it to work with my blackberry again?

Make sure the microphone is closed and the BlueTooth is off. Hold the button in until it turns purple. As soon as it does release the button and flip out the microphone. The purple light should stay lit all the time now. That is until the pairing process is done with the phone.

The "Guest" posting on posted on Jul 11, 2008 is definitely not an appretice. I have been searching for a solution for my Motorola Bluetooth Headset H700. Holding the headset halfway did the trick with the "Search for devices from here" option in the bluetooth setting under "Add Devices." First it finds an "audio device" then it names it Motorola H700. If you forgot the passcode you can use '0000'.

I had the same problem but with my iPhone and even though I would press the button for 1-5 seconds and flip out the microphone, it would not stay lit for more than 5 seconds. What I did after that was flipping the headset half way and the light stayed lit and was able to pair. This might work for you.

Nedd the passkey to pair to my blackberry

Problem :
Passkey to pair
Solution
PUT THE HEADSET IN PAIRING MODE
The headset indicator light will be steadily lit in purple when in pairing mode. To place the headset in pairing mode:
If the headset has never been paired with another device, simply open the headset boom. The indicator light becomes steadily lit in purple.
If the headset has previously been paired with other devices, first ensure those devices are turned off.
Then open the headset boom and the indicator light flashes in blue. After about 5 seconds, the indicator light becomes steadily lit in purple.

DEFAULT PASSKEY is 0000 (four Zeros)

Can pair my h700 w my bberry storm

Hold down the connect button on headset until steady purple light comes on, then open the boom.

Search for Bluetooth devices on the phone. When asked for a pin, use "0000". Now the H700 will show up in the Bluetooth device list, but it will not connect. Put the headset in pairing mode again, this time go to the h700 listed on the phone and select connect. Now the devices will work as normal. When you open the boom on the h700, it will connect to the phone.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Using h700 as a PC headset

Rjcroller wrote and is working fine. please follow....
---------
Steps to pair a H700 headset with any bleutooth pone:

  1. Make sure the H700 fully chared (very important)!!
  2. Make sure the microphone boom is folded closed, i.e. power is off!
  3. Hold the call button for 1-5 seconds until the light is steady lit purple
  4. Flip out the microphone boom, the light should stay lit purple!

Now you are ready to pair the headset with your phone, so follow the pairing instructions of your phone.

Note: When prompted for the Passkey; it is most likely 0000 but the correct Passkey should be on the headset accessory instructions.

I must add that indeed my headset on occation (once or twice every three months) also loses its connection with the blackberry (a 8703e) . At which time I have to remove the headset from my phone bluetooth device list, and start the above described steps to pair my headset with the phone again.

Purple light on H700 will not stay lit

I was having trouble with the same thing. The light would flash purple when closed, I opened and it stayed lit only for a second. Give it another second, I found it flashed off then came back on steady for pairing mode.

Purple light will not stay lit

I signed up JUST because this solution worked:

"Hmm this may sound like a stupid solution that doesnt work but what i did is...,

#1 I Held the button to make the violet light go on
#2 when the violet light is on dont just flip the boom mic, flip* the earpiece with it.

*note: when fliping the mic and earpiece, dont open slowly, flip it open fast and keep it there." I do want to note that my passcode was reset to nothing during my 3 months of troubleshooting.

Not going to mess with it.

Pairing

The same way you did to your Razr. Make sure the H700s microphone are is in the off position. Push in and hold the button on the H700 until the light lights up purple. Release the button and quickly open the microphone button. The light will stay purple and you are now in "Pairing Mode". Now follow the instructions for your phone to pair with a BlueTooth unit. When it asks for a code, use 0000 (that is 4 zeros).
