174 error message on thinkpad 380 (by 2 users)

i left my laptop off for more than one year ,now when i try to boot i get the error message 00174
My laptop think pad 380 gives me this error 174, it will let me do the system check but when I restart it it gives me the same error code. I tried holding f1 down before starting but that didn't help at all. Any suggestions?

when i turned on laptop thinkpad 380d it gives the message 161 163

Try this:
Start with the machine OFF, hold down and CONTINUE TO HOLD the "F1" key and turn on the power WHILE STILL HOLDING DOWN "F1"
This should get you into the bios/setup, which on most thinkpads is pretty simple and self explanatory. You can reset the date, and something called "initialize" as I remember.
POST YOUR MODEL NUMBER!!!!
Ibm.com's support is famous for having very good, extensive support for thinkpads. I searched for this error no. but we really need the model number
