Order an extended maintenance kit. It is very easy to change, just slides in out and into the right side maintenance drawer.
Takes about 2 minutes.

Shadow Printing on a xerox Phaser 8560. Have changed the Maint Roller and done the various cleaning cycles

The printer requires a maintenance kit. (95% chance anyways)
I would suggenst the extended life maintenance kit (10,000 page lifespan) part number 108R00676 to correct this issue.
You can usually get these where you get your solid ink cartridges.

I don't believe there is anything to do but replace the maint kit. There is a chip on that maint kit and it lets the machine know how much life is left. when you replace it the chip will reset the count. IT SHOULD HAVE WARNED YOU TO ORDER A NEW ONE WITH PLENTY OF WARNING!

How do i reset the counter for a Lexmark e260d after replacing the photoconductor kit?

After replacing all the items in the photoconductor kit, reset the maintenance counter: 1 Press and hold the Select and Return buttons while you turn the printer on. 2 Release the buttons when Performing Self Test appears on the display. The printer performs its power-on sequence, and then Config Menu appears on the first line of the display. 3 Press Menu until you see Reset Maint Cnt and then press Select. Reset appears on the second line of the display. 4 Press Select. Resetting Maint Cnt Value appears briefly on the display, and then is replaced by Config Menu on the top line and Reset Maint Cnt on the second line. 5 Press Menu until you see Exit Config Menu, and then press Select. Activating Menu Changes appears briefly, followed by Performing Self Test. The printer returns to the Ready state.

I have a Xerox 8500 DN and it is not recognizing the maintainence kit, have tried compatible and OEM Xerox kits but can not get to identify. on troubleshooting Test: 57 Drum Maint. Kit :Ck DM contact...

The maintenance kit needs to touch contacts to reset it.

There is a camshaft 020K14800 which may be cracked and therefore doesn't position these contacts. I suggest replacing this.

Replaced maintenance kit - Now large black line

From what you've said it really doesn't sound like the maint kit would cause the problem. The fuser will cause ghosting or repetitive defects or smearing of the print the transfer roller also repetitive usually.
I think you have a toner (thats the easy test) or a laser scanner issue.
Try a new or known good toner cart. Did you change about the same time you did the kit?
If that doesn't work you can swap back the parts you removed when you changed the kit. One at a time, just the fuser and the transfer roll the feed rolls have nothing to do with what you describe.
If you still have the problem it is likely the laser/scanner assm.
You should proprably call a tech.
Hope this helps

RESET INSTRUCTONS FOR XEROX 8560 MAINTENANCE KIT

The maint kit resets the counter when it is installed. You may have gotten a bad maint kit or the black plasstic part that the roller slides into is bad. That is where the connection is to reset the counter.
