My 1994 Honda Civic SI has an erratic idle. It stays at 3000-3500rpm when started cold till it warms up then ...
on a cold start car will idle fast till it warms up then will drop to about 1000 rpm, try increacing idle speed so when it warms and drops it should stay idleing
This 86 Honda Prelude does not have a link connector, code's are read from the computer it's self, the computer is under the passenger seat or under the carpet on the passenger side, you count led light flashes and on the computer panel will have the trouble code's refernce.
I would first check for a vacumm leak on any hoses that control EGR or any other vacumm device used for warmup. This symptom is related to coolant sensor warming up and onced achieved engine temp., it goes away. EGR is not used for warm up but vacumm control to it could be leaking.
There is a warm up valve on the throttle body(should have 2 small coolant hoses). remove the valve and have someone start the car while you block the port to the valve on the intake. If that clears up the problem you can cut a piece of cardboard to mount in between the valve and intake.should straighten it out.
