I've got the same problem, I uninstalled the driver, reboot the machine and it continues in conflict. My laptop is an HP too.

I am glad it isn't just me. I have an HP Pavilion dc6000 laptop. I can't remember when my drive worked last. I have looked all over the Pioneer website - useless. I have tried disabling, uninstalling, rebooting - nothing works. It says that the driver is updated properly on one place, but then says that it cannot load the driver (code 10).

    Any thoughts??

Hi all and thank you so much for all of the great solutions, but I'm afraid that I am having the same issues. I have tried deleting both the lower and upper filters and my optical drive still won't work. Does anyone have a new solution for this problem? Any help and/or suggestions are greatly appriciated. Thank you all in advance.

    Jon

I don't think it's a software or firmware problem i had the same issue with my hp laptop a dv6645us the hardware is a pioneer cddvr k17b the only thing i could've done was change out the optical drive itself.

Try uninstalling software that uses the drive. You can also try uninstalling programs that you don't use by using something like revo uninstaller. Also you can try using a registry cleaner. After that you can try your drive again.

I have an Hp laptop with a pioneer dvdrw dvr k17b not burning.

dies your burned this work on your PC? if it works on your pc you just have to select the correct settings for your burning software, when you burn does it ask you to burn multiple sessions? if it does and you selected the option create multiple session then what will happen is the disc's you burnt will only work on your windows and not on any other computer or devices that use dvd's or cd's, on the options it will also have a choice for you to choose single session only wherein this will allow you to use the burnt disc in any other computer and will most likely work 100% of the time ^_^ NOTE: this step I gave all depends on the software you use to burn your disc and you may be required to play around your software for some softwares do not have the same info in them but at time be the same in thier function and purpose ^_^ I just based this answer to your question using my NERO

My problem is that my system does'nt show any dvd drive in lapto

The driver for the device would have been corrupted by some incompatible drivers loaded onto your pc lately. It could also be that the device has been mistakenly disabled. If not, disable the device and restart your pc. After it stabilized on the desktop, go back to the Device Manager and enable it again. If nothing still happens, go through Control Panel and remove the driver from installed programs. Shut down your pc and disconnect the device. Leave for about 10 minutes and recoonect and power on the pc, the device should be detected by the pc and then install its drivers. If it doesn't detect the device, it has probably gone bad and should be replaced. Good luck
