Shut off the power...Each pump should have 2 valves associated with it. Close the valve on the outgoing side of the pump (not leading to the end of the pump). Use a strap wrench or large pair of Channel lock pliers to loosen the union nut counter clockwise on the outgoing side of the pump (not the end of the pump) listen for air escaping... water will leak out... tighten the union nut when the air sound stops and just water is leaking out. open the valve back up and restart the spa at the breaker. Press the up temp button to override the prime (PR) cycle and start the system. If this does not work, feel free to contact us at [email protected]

Does anyone know the right filter for a Key Backyard Spa 331?

Key backyards went out of business.
Most common filter was a standard 50 sq. foot cartridge element.
Unicel C4950 is a common filter. Pleatco and Filbur are other brand manufacturers of replacement filter cartridges.
FIT Pool spa C4950 UNICEL 4950 PLEATCO PRB50 IN FC 2390

if you think this is the one, we got lucky. If not, please go to the comment section of this thread and provide the information of where your filter should go. Maybe even upload a picture of this area and we would be able to help you better.

Hayward super pump won't prime

Priming issues are almost always due to a bad gasket or loose fitting.
  1. Remove the leaf trap lid. Examine the gasket for debris, cuts or folds that might prevent a tight seal.
  2. Remove and examine the winter plugs for proper seal.
  3. Remove, re-tape or putty the threaded fitting directly in from of the pump.
  4. Check all unions, fittings and connections from the skimmer and main drain to the pump.
  5. On rare occasions the impeller may be impacted with debris preventing water flow. Remove the four screws holding the motor to the wet end exposing the impeller and examine it. Hayward impellers are also know to break at the shaft. This will sound like the pump is operating but never pumping water.
  6. If everything looks normal, try pouring water over the entire wet end while priming. This will sometimes allow water to fill a void you missed. The pump will probably loose prime again until the issue is corrected.

Jacuzzi pool pump delivers no water

wow if it got that cold there id be winterizing with food grade antifreeze not just drainig it down, you could miss pockets of water here and there and produce a crack in housing someplace , as for trouble shooting a no flow situation try the ole standby method of methodical subsitution it's worked for 100 years , keep removing parts (start at suction line in pool) temporray out of system till flow starts then you know last part sub'd out was it!!!

Pump problems?

Their can be a number of things.. Is the pump priming. Hopefully it did prime. what usually happens after running for awhile, with no cool water coming in. The water inside the pump basket starts to heat up, then the tubing turns to brownish on the input side of pump and exhaust side. (you could have air leaking in throught the input side, which could result in the pump never priming) Or if it is priming and no pressure (can mean your empellar is clogged up)

How does heater work to keep freeze off pool in winter

What state do you live in, what is the brand name and model number of the heater. If you live in a state that gets cold during the winter, call you local pool store and schedule a closing. If the pump is running and water is not circulating, most likely the pump lost prime or your filter needs to be backwashed, or there is some debris in the impeller.
