How to take clear pictures

Hello.

Considering your camera is in good working order go to the menu and look fot the option to turn on sounds if they aren't already on.

With your camera set to auto, aim it at your subject and partially press the shutter button. At this point you may see the image on your screen change from blurry to clear as the camera auto focuses. Usually a green light will appear on the screen and sometimes a sound will signal you that the camera is focused and ready to shoot.

You must wait for the camera to focus and give you a signal before pressing the shutter button fully. Give it a try and practice with different situations and backgrounds as focus time will vary between sceens.

Hope this helps. Dale

I am from bangladesh the problem associated with my camera is that the display dont show the view of the subject that iI want to capture and the resultant is the no picture only shows the black sheet in...

The S2 IS is a very nice camera, but is known to be susceptible to stuck shutter problems. A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Camera shutter sound on Nokia C7

To turn on or off the camera shutter sound, this is what you do.
Turn on the camera, select 'options', then, 'camera settings', you would see the otpion of shutter sounds.
Select 'on/off' as applicable.

Hope that was helpful?
Have a wonderful day.

Theres a constant ticking sound that continues even after a picture is taken. Could there be something wrong with the lens?

Hello - the noise is made from a camera sound chip - no mechanical parts to make the clicking sound.
There is a choice of shutter sounds - try turning the sound OFF.
I'm assuming the picture looks OK , otherwise you would have said so -- Good luck - Ray

When I press the shutter button, it makes a sound like it has taken a picture , no picture shows up on view finder or on the camera

You might be just pressing the shutter button half-way, and that only lets your camera focus on an object. Try pressing it again just a little bit harder. You can also set the sounds differently for the shot mode as opposed to focusing or using other features, and that will help you determine if you are actually pressing the button all the way.

The camera takes pictures with flash, but then as you hit display the screen stays black and the picture was never taken. How can this get fixed?

Do you mean that no picture file was actually recorded, or do you really mean that the resulting picture file recorded a black picture?
If you mean that you're camera is taking black pictures, this sounds like a stuck shutter. A stuck shutter is a common failure mode for digital cameras, and it seems to be especially so for any of the Canon A6XX series (although these cameras are awesome otherwise). The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). Dropped my L730 digital camera and since then when viewing pictures taken, there are lines across the screen...?

Sounds like the shutter has been damaged and is stuck open, which overexposes photos and gives a 'venition blind' effect - the shutter and/or lens unit would need to be replaced. Probably marginal given low replacement costs.

Does camera have timer

Putting Yourself in the Picture The Self Timer creates a 10-second delay between the time you press the Shutter button and the time the picture is taken. 1 Place the camera on a flat surface or use a tripod. 2 In any Still mode, press the Self Timer button. The Self Timer icon appears in the status area. 3 Compose the scene. Then press the Shutter button half-way and hold to set the exposure and focus, then press the rest of the way down. Move so that you are in the scene. The Self Timer light blinks slowly for 8 seconds (then quickly for 2 seconds) before the picture is taken. The camera "clicks" when the picture is captured. To turn off the shutter sound, see page 64. The Self Timer turns off after you take the picture or if you change modes. To cancel the Self Timer before the picture is taken, press the Self Timer button. (The Self Timer setting remains active.) To turn off the Self Timer, press the Self Timer button twice.
