Had the same problem with OmniForm 4.0 after attempting a reinstall to another PC following a HD crash on the original. Called and was told 4.0 was no longer supported. Only suggestion they had was to re-install as trial and reinstall each time the trial ended. That worked but was kinda annoying considering I PAID for this!

The copy-protection on this is based on the date the end user installs the software as I understand it and is randomly generated from that. The only fix for this is to crack the software copy protection. Not something for the faint of heart or the non-geek PC user for sure. Virus ridden key generators for this are out there but as I've said unless you're really good and can strip the threats not the way to go.

Something should be said here for end-users forced into piracy through greedy acts of abonment by a software industry that allows a company to deny support to purchasers of software they have purchased. Companies that fully intend to distribute and profit from an updated version and by this refussal of support force the unsavory choice of total loss onto owners of the previously legally purchased versions or purchase of their new version. Disgusting!

May be there's a problem with the version you are using. Some suggest for a System restore but that would not fix it either.
To get you a new re-registration number you can give a call to Quickbooks Support team. Quickbook contact details are available at the online phone directory- Contactforhelp.

Calling Nuance will get you a new re-registration number that will allow you to install the software, that part worked fine, but I found out the hard way that if you try to use it with Windows 7 it screws up the Java script. I spent 2 hours with HP tech support trying to fix the problem plus un-installing & re-installing Jave all to no avail. System restore would not fix it either. I finally had to re-install all the factory presets which of course lost other software and drivers I had installed on the hard drive to fix the problem.

Go to the Nuance website and call tech support. They will ask for some info and give you a new registration number.

You might have an old number. That doesn't appear to be a correct number for Version 4.0.

Even though it says on the Nuance website that this software is no longer supported , they will give you a number to reregister, I just did this yesterday, 4/23/2014. First, you have to give them the current key that is displayed where it asks you to register, you cant give them an old one. Contact customer service with this link: "Nuance Customer Service" , tell them you want to reregister Omniform, and which version you have, 4.0 or 5.0 or yours if different. They will email you a new number, easy as that!

NEED TO REINSTALL MY OMNIFORM 4.01 BUT SAYS INCOMPATIBLE APPLICATION. HAVE DONE THIS ON SAME COMPUTER BEFORE WITH NO PROBLEMS

Okay. If the Program Compatibility Assistant says this, it is safe to say IGNORE IT. I'm running desktop architect on a windows 7 machine and I don't care. Neither should the PC. But if performance issues result, you need to nix it. But as you said, same PC. No problems. It's just Microsoft's way of ranting about software it doesn't like.

I use Omniform 4.0 for OCR document storage in Windows Vista. I am having trouble emailing these docs as an attachment to Windows Mail. What do I have to do to be able to email these documents this way?

First off, I assume that you know that Omniform is a database program. We use it at my work, and everyone believes that it is just a way of filling out a form and printing it. Everything that is entered is saved in a database (usually hidden) and is then accessbile through the form.

Now that's out of the way. To email a form, you will have to add the actual .ofm file as an attachment, and mail it to your recipient. They will have to also have omniform to open the file.

Your other option is to export the form fields (from the file>export menu in omniform). It'll give you a little hassle about deciding on which fields to export, and how you want them exported (MS excel, dbase, ect). Once you export them, they will be in a matching filetype (ie .xls or whatever you exported them as) format. Add this file as an attachment, and sent it through your mail to your recipient.

I know this all seems like a bit of a pain, but honestly, Omniform is a great program. I've used it for 6 years, and had very few problems with it. Word to the wise, its easier to just attach your .ofm files and send them as email, rather than using the build in "sent to mail recipient" that is built into the omniform program.

Let me know if you have any further questions. This is one program that i've had to take apart, reassemble, build forms, ect for numerous people.

Good Luck

For my Client he needed administrator rights to his account on my companies network. i tried having him as a power user that did not work, he needed administrator rights. once he had those rights, he was able to work in Omniform; even though it said that error i had told you all about when he was a Remote user\user.
