Question about Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR
Just recently "updated?" to the 2008 PANA_DVD.FRM file listed on the Panasonic Drivers and Downloads and updated the firmware of the DMR-EZ37V. All seemed to go well until I attempted to add back in the Channel Programing. The previous firmware (more than likely original) allowed manuals additions to the channel list automatically programmed by the setup (antenna-based). This latest firmware does not work the same way. The DMR-EZ37V is used in a fringe area and the antenna must be pointed pretty much directly toward the channel in order to pick them up. Before the update, just setting the channel to the correct channel frequency used by the digital station, added that digital channel to the list of those already programmed. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to either go back the original firmware (somewhat buggy) or how to manually add channels to this unit?

Channels 1-5 are I believe for Analogue reception. To record from my digital Freeview box, I'm plugged into SCART port 2 (bottom most port on right hand side of machine as you look at it from the front). Use your remote to change the channel to A2 with the <CH> rocker button just above the video+ button on the controller. This will then record whatever channel your freeview box is set to - the only pain is you can't watch a separate channel whilste recording.

connect the RF lead from the wall to your cable box then out from that to your dvd then out from your dvd to your tv. now connect a scart lead from the cable box to AV 2 on the DVD then connect AV 1 on the DVD to your TV if you have a second scart on your tv connect that to the cable box. NOW on the DVD select AV2 now whatever is on the cable box will be recorded onto DVD/VCR. Put the DVD recorder into VCR mode and set it to auto tune all the Digital Video Broadcasts. You cannot physically tune the cable boxes own channels into the DVD via RF it has to be via a scart.
